[edit] Roleplay and CoX experience

I've been playing CoH since 2005. It is my first and only MMORPG, or indeed any paid subscription game online. The fact it was superheroes made the difference. I was a huge fan of Marvel comics as a kid. Spiderman was by far my favourite superhero, although I also followed the adventures of DareDevil, Iron Man, Ghost Rider, and others.

I've been into roleplaying games since the Eighties, and played AD&D for almost 25 years, along with many other Tabletop RPGs. I ran my own twice-weekly D&D group for 6 years, writing all the adventures from scratch in an epic that mainly focused around a single campaign, with some sub-campaigns.

I was an unexpectedly popular GM for running games at the South London chapter of The Guild of Melee and Magic roleplayers club. These evenings were weekly, and run in pubs to make TTRPGs a far more social event (with booze, Yay!). Of course, one of my campaigns over those years led to my group (at that time 8 players of Warhammer FRP, being nicknamed the Whorewammer Campaign. Don't ask. They were just jealous because ours was the only group with more ladies playing than men.

I was also a paid GM (Referee) for one of the most famous Live-action Roleplay Games, Labyrinthe, run by Garner Adventure Tours. This was from the late-80s into the mid-90s, and was mainly based in Chislehurst Caves, although there were also outdoor 'special' adventures too.

[edit] Roleplay Style

I like a quite realistic style of play for the psychological side. I have no limits on how fantastic the world may be, so long as it hangs together realistically in the 'big picture'. Logical inconsistencies will bug the heck out of me.

[edit] Real Life Stuff

I do actually have a real life, away from the game, but am trying to wean myself off it.

[edit] Work / Profession

I work (as little as possible) with the Internet. My job is in online marketing, falling between (with considerable overlap) web development and business marketing. Most of my work is in consultancy with larger companies and corporations, helping them to do better business online.

[edit] Game Stuff

[edit] Main Hero Characters

Golden Glow: Huge blond dude who claims to have gained his powers after a mishap trying to expose canabis plants to dangerous levels of radiation in the hope of mutating them into super-canabis. He's actually more complex, and is fibbing.

Powerstone: 300 year old earth mage who was once a Major in the army protecting the interests of the Royal East India Co. Quite the old-school English Gentleman.

White Vampyr: stalwart of the Hyperion Watchmen, previously a highly successful Goth/Rock singer with the band Gothic Overtones. Widow and heiress of millionaire architect Eric Mitchel (aka Britanic).

Long Snowflame: A Chinese Dragon who has taken human-like form and came West with others of the group Orient Excess.

Liberty Protector: League Associated Industries believe that corporate sponsorship of a charming and dedicated hero will do much to boost public perception of the brand.

Lady Harlequin: Daughter of Harlequin Blade, Hannah has inherited the magical blades he weilded.

Obsidian One: Mutant girl from the poverty stricken area of Kings Row has the power to bend nether energies about her, as both shield and weapon.

Commander Snow: Military field scientist and all-round super-tech uses gadgets and military grade hardware.

Rocky Powers: Paramedic caught in a mutagenic explosion gained new abilities that the Militia Academy and Hyperion Clinic taught him to use for the common good.

[edit] Main Villain Characters

I've almost given up on CoV since I'm totally unable to load Grandville except in safe mode, which is obscenely yucky to play in. Since that effectively rules out the end-game, all else seems a little pointless. However, being able to roleplay a villain isn't dependant on having access to Grandville, of course, so one new 'rogue' has appeared in the Rogue Islands.

Toxic Glow - Glow is a clone, custom designed and made to be a super-powered commando. His training and abilities, and plentiful experience, are especially suited to black ops heavy assault work, including demolition and assaults on armoured targets.

Lucky Day - Lucian Day is most certainly not a villain. Well, not in the sense you'd mean it. He's a respected antiquities collector and dealer who loves adventure.

Lord Borealis - The sinister villain is a twisted and bitter monster of his own making. Steampunk mad genius from the days where the term 'Scientist' often covered many fields.

Krakor - Grigori Krakor is a chief executive within League Associated Industries. The Mu bloodlines are stong within this Eastern European criminal.

Efreya The Flame - This tall, dusky Amazon has an inhuman cast to her features that supports the claim she has Efreet blood in her veins.

Demonic Machine - Robots have long been close enough to human to join society, and rise within it. Demonic Possession of such a being was only a mater of time.

Drew Firstblood - Arachnos widow and ruthless assassin, this thrill-seeking killer is a lethal weapon.

[edit] Deleted / Retired Characters

Coil: (Fire/Energy Melee Tanker, 26 - Deleted) The artificially constructed human made from a heavily modified variant of Coile's DNA, left Paragon with his family following the death of Coile.

Swamp Monster: (Retired) Spines/Regen scrapper from before i4, who's concept never really adapted to i5 and i6. Anyone recalling Swamp-Thing would likely recognise this character. Not actually deleted, he's been moved to Defiant to free space for other characters.

Van Der Graff: (Electric/Devices Blaster, 34 - Deleted) He simply wasn't getting played, and character-wise was my weakest in terms of a firm persona. When I urgently needed to clear a slot for a new character, poor Van was the logical choice to go without being missed by others.

Gwendolyn: (Retired) My first Union character (and never yet reached 50). An empath defender with force bolts. If I'd only known how much I would hate knockbacks then, eh?
