Character concept

Twilighter got rather, what's the word.... too pleasant to RP, everything settled down into a nice routine, things were stable and enter Tomb the rather polar opposite of the happy little Twilighter.

Tomb is the Praetorian version of Twilighter

[edit] Personality

Tomb is not an actual person and thus her personality is rather skewed, created by the mind of a terrified little girl, to be strong enough to survive in the Praetorian world she's less developed than a full person.

The Tomb persona lacks compassion because Sarah saw that as a weakness.

Unrelentingly cruel Tomb hurts people without rhyme or reason, merely reveling in the pain of others.

Sarah is a nice enough girl, a little shy around people she doesn't know, loving of her 'sister', a little on the naive side.

Gamma is essentially neutral, good or evil, pain or pleasure, neither matter to the machine soul (AI) known as Gamma, it worked for Tomb and now it observes through Sarah experiencing the world through her eyes.

Junkies and thugs loyal to here only though the chains of their own addictions make up most of Tombs power base.

Originally they would not be much use but through the use age of combat drugs and meta human steroids they are more impressive than they look.

Using various chemicals and technological gadgets Tomb is able to keep those around her fighting for longer and more ferociously than should be possible.

Her enhanced physiology allows her to recover from wounds and exhaustion quicker than should be possible for a child or even a grown woman.

An anti-gravity pack allows Tomb to travel in great leaps.

The AI built into her body activates in combat situations allowing her to process the battle quicker. In turn this allows her to assist her team mates to be more effective in a fight.

After impressing Captain Mako with the ferocity with which she accomplished several missions for Arachnos he gave her access to Frenzy Mutagen.

When used it causes her to form expressions of her hatred for the world as negative energy constructs, usually ferocious beasts that seek to devour the world around her.

How ever the strain is great on her little body and thus it's only to be used in extremely serious situations.

Tomb is an accomplished chemist and biologist focusing mainly on drugs and combat enhancements.

For all her tough talk and near suicidal frenzy in combat, Tomb is merely a persona created by a scared little girl. It's quite possible a strong enough telepath could erase her and force Sarah to be in control.

Despite her enhancements and chemicals Tomb often pushes herself too far, simply put she has no ability to care about her body, deliberately letting her self get injured or abused if it gets her what she wants.

[edit] The Time Before

Sarah Mc Kensie's parents were as good as people could be on Praetorian earth, loyal citizens who kept their heads down and tried to live from day to day as best they could.

One day however that peaceful life was shattered when a bunch of thugs from one of the local gangs decided to have some fun with the family.

After watching her father killed and like her mother being used to service the various whims of the gang members something inside Sarah broke and she started to hide away from reality.

[edit] The Birth Of Tomb

Sarah's mind clung on to what one of the raiders had growled into her ear when she had asked him why, why he was doing this to her.

“The strong can do what they like”

But Sarah wasn't some one strong, she knew this and thus a formless, nameless feral identity started to form in the young girls psyche.

From time to time heroes rose and tried to fight against Tyrant's regime, rose up and usually fell soon after, one of these heroes was a mechanical soldier from another dimension Guard Unit Gamma. It was during one of this heroes fights she was critically wounded, appalled at hurting a bystander the machine took her away and rebuilt her as a cyborg.

At this point the feral psyche lashed out in pain and fear, ripping the machine soldier apart with her newly enhanced body.

Walking into the sunlight as if freshly risen from the grave the feral persona chose a name for itself.

[edit] The Journey to CoX Earth

Tomb as she eventually started calling her self knew that she could not remain on Praetorian Earth, not if she intended to get stronger. Those who were currently strong would tread down on those trying to rise.

She needed a fresh start, somewhere easier to gain strength.

She came up with a plan.

She chose a young man, a fresh recruit in the gang of thugs who worked for the Praetorian Marauder. Crafting this young man with combat enhancing drugs and stimulants, manipulating those around him to help the young man rise through the ranks.

Throughout this she stayed by his side serving him faithfully, fulfilling his every appetite, physical, chemical and mental.

Eventually it paid off and when the man was sent in command of a raiding squad to CoX Earth, she went with him, smiling and waving she walked off into a new world safe in the knowledge the raiding party was about to die from the chemical plague she'd just infected them with.

One of Tombs first acts in this world of heroes and villains was to attempt to mess with the status quo, a gathering of heroes were selected and a play put in motion.

Lemonade was sold on behalf of charity, lemonade with the additional ingredients of LSD and PCP.

Tomb was arrested.

Her second attempt again led to her incarceration, but this time without a lucky Rikti raid to help her escape. Sent to an asylum for mentally ill children it seemed that would be the end of Tombs story.

[edit] Across the Ocean

As Tomb settled down to a life of colouring books and apple sauce with pills, fate it seemed had other plans for the girl.

Arachnos had heard that one of the children currently in the Asylum was capable of looking into different worlds, a useful ability the spiders wanted.

The asylum was attacked, the patients and others kidnapped.

Taken to the Rogue Islands, Tomb eventually escaped and after being warned about her actions was allowed to operate as a destined one.

Tombs current actions are focused towards gaining wealth as fast as possible.

Money is power.

Power is strength.

The strong can do what they like.

Drugs, weapons, slaves anything that can make her money comes under the stock of the store.

[edit] Well It Had To Happen Sooner Or Later

Friendship is an alien concept to the girl known as Tomb, seeing those around her as merely tools and playthings and so it was with the homunculus Rapturous. Tomb's 'playing' with Rapturous lead to Rapt, being left for dead, pinned to the floor of a warehouse.

This angered the psychic Pzysan who had made Rapturous one of her possessions.

Confrontation soon followed and the persona of Tomb was erased, but not before the place of meeting had been reduced to a scene of carnage.

[edit] Redemption Or Reincarnation?

With Tomb gone Sarah was once again in charge of her body, left with a gap in her memory from the time with Tomb in possession of her body, Sarah began to fill it with half remembered lies and made up events.

Believing her self to be the younger sister of one of the heroes she met as Tomb, Sarah is trusting and naive, if some what shy around new people.

Meanwhile Gamma watches, gathering more information.

One of the lies Sarah remembered was the claim that the human bonded to the Warshade Lyta, Jenny, was in fact her sister.

Perhaps it was pity, loneliness or a desire to help Sarah that made Jenny accept Sarah as her sister, but Sarah is currently as happy as a clam living with her 'sister'

While Sarah is content to spend every day in homey peace with her sister, Gamma has become obsessed with becoming 'alive'. Observing the way Sarah's brain works the machine soul alters it's own programming to mirror the changes emotions cause.

Gamma was not satisfied with the weakness of Sarah's body, without the feral insanity of Tomb, the meek and mild mannered little girl would forever be at threat of those stronger than her.

Gamma came up with a plan, kidnapping a vampire (Kallandra), the AI tried to break her will through torture and abuse, the vampire proved too tough for that, not breaking before rescue.

So the AI changed it's method.

Kidnapping her again, Gamma used a cocktail of drugs and psychological combat to bend Kallandra to it's will, resulting in the vampire embracing Sarah out of an effort to avoid future loneliness. It did not know however Kallandra would have to feed Sarah the vampires own drug tainted blood.

Trying to remove the chemicals from their body Gamma was unable to prevent the assault carried out on Jenny, by the Quantum Array Gun armed villain Stormraiser.

Left in a deep sleep by the loss of War Shade Lyta, Jenny becomes the sole focus of both Gamma and Sarah as they try to find away to make her better!

Sarah began to slowly hate Kallandra, the simple pleasures in life having been stolen by the vampiric curse.

While at first their relationship seemed to be that of a family, with Kallandra acting the part of the young mother, or wiser older sister and Rapturous being the baby of the family.

Which would of been a fine way of living but Sarah couldn't help herself, Sarah kept trying to hurt Kallandra, often with out even realizing that she was doing so.

Spiraling into a manic depressive state, Tomb desperately began to look for a way to escape her curse, eventually she came up with a kill or cure method of removing the Vampric taint from her body.

Using a twisted mixture of magic and technology, she first created a machine that would suspend her awareness, her existence, her very soul, keeping it trapped and unable to pass on. Her next creation was a machine that would destroy her body, cell by cell, and rebuild her in the same fashion.

Combining the two, she spent several days in soul crushing agony, as her body was gradually eaten away by her machines. Eventually when the machines had finished, she was cured, mentally crushed and as weak as a kitten... but cured.

[edit] A Cry for Help

Perhaps as some form of twisted atonement, Tomb started a movement in Paragon City, funding a group of poor souls, who for some reason or another hated the monsters within society. While the group sometimes did noble work, hunting down those creatures that preyed on humans, it did not differentiate between those super natural creatures that preyed on mankind and those that just wanted to be left alone.

Eventually the group was shut down, its members arrested, and Tomb herself placed into psychiatric care, with care and medication, Sarah began to respond to counselling. Eventually she was released into the care of Jenny, who still believed Sarah to be her missing sister, with several members of the Midnight Club, offering to keep an eye on her.

With Tomb out of the picture, The Store began to fall apart, as members of her gang tried to cut themselves slices of the criminal empire. Believing Tomb to be dead, and unaware of Sarah’s attempts to redeem herself, one of Tomb’s captains hit upon an idea.

He had a clone of Tomb created; only this clone would be under his control. Fearing the girls psychotic vengeance, the other Captains quickly fell in line, unaware that they now served Ghoul.

I think Tomb might be the only character I've ever been /ignored on

Tomb was originally going to be the Praetorian version of Twilighter however GR changed that, as rather than being the post apocalyptic nightmare they originally showed us... Preatoria is actually kinda nice.
