Reichsfaust Vogel is my addition to the hordes of Dual Blades/Willpower characters that were made when these sets came out. I've grown to like her, and so I'm trying to add some depth to her.

She may seem very vile, background wise, and I hope nobody gets offended by this. I intend to have her gradually take a rather large departure from her origins as she starts figuring out that maybe the propaganda she was raised on isn't a very good answer.

[edit] Overview

Reichsfaust Vogel is a new face (or lack of one, since she always wears a mask) on the Rogue Isles' black market arms circuit. Through her impressive knowledge of arms and a few well placed cuts of her blades she's quickly established herself as a notorious arms trafficker as well as a thorn in Arachnos' side.

Little information about why Arachnos has declared her persona non grata is available, however they've made little headway into removing her from the Isles.

[edit] Affiliations

  • Soldier of the Reich

[edit] Personality

The Reichsfaust is known for her cold pragmatism and her unwavering conviction. Once she sets her mind to something she will rarely accept failure, let alone defeat, and appears to have few scruples to prevent her from achieving these goals. To her the ends almost always justify the means.

[edit] Motivation

Currently what motivates Vogel are the objectives she was given before entering this universe (which are anyone's guess), and to find a way back to where she came from. All other motivation stems from needs arising to fulfill these two goals. Hence why she's an arms trafficker; she needs money to accomplish what she needs.

[edit] Dual Blades

While trained in many conventional weapons the Reichsfaust was trained particularly in the use of paired bladed weapons. She often proves the age old adage "don't bring a knife to a gunfight" flat out inaccurate.

[edit] Willpower

Part of her training involved increasing her fortitude, both physical as well as mental. This rigorous training regime has left her at the peak of human potential in terms of withstanding trauma of either kind.

[edit] Additional Powers

While nowhere near being able to jump like some superpowered individuals the Reichsfaust's training in bladed weaponry has left her with absurdly fast and high jumps. She often uses this ability to defeat her enemies by pouncing them, closing the distance before they have time to react. This often renders the advantage of ranged weaponry against her moot.

[edit] Abilities

Vogel has obviously had a lot of military training and experience in military field work. This has made her a cunning tactician skilled particularly in subterfuge. She is also schooled in the use of many arms, and thus is qualified to judge the quality of a wide array of arms and equipment.

[edit] Vulnerabilities

While she is a ruthless soldier and a fierce adversary Vogel does not have any unique special powers. Without her weapons she is essentially helpless unless one is stupid enough to let her get close enough to snap one's neck.

Additionally, because she comes from a world quite different to the one she's in now she has trouble wrapping her head around certain concepts, seeing things through an alien view which can sometimes be disadvantageous. This can lead to sudden errors in judgement or worse.

[edit] Equipment

When Vogel entered this world she quickly learned that lawlessness was rampant and that with the right amount of money you can acquire damn near anything on the black market. She used this to her advantage, purchasing a set of powered armor and reinforced impervium blades to augment her already significant combat prowess.

[edit] History

The Reichsfaust is not a native to the reality she currently finds herself in. In her reality Marcus Cole and Stefan Richter never found the Fountain of Zeus, they did not open Pandora's Box, and subsequently due to the lack of super powered individuals the Axis won the second world war.

Hence Vogel grew up in a world where the west was controlled by the Nazi empire known simply as the Reich, and the east by Imperial Japan. Vogel was born into a selective breeding program based in Austria, in an attempt to craft the ubermensch. She was among the first successful specimen, achieving the peak of human potential in physical abilities as well as mental resilience.

Being a child of the Reich, Vogel never questioned the Reich of it's methods. Inundated by propaganda she quickly rose among the ranks of the military, achieving the rank of Reichsfaust; one of the Reich's greatest warriors. It was because of her potential that she was chosen for a high risk operation code named "Erleuchtung".

[edit] Operation Erleuchtung

Partly because of the lack of super powered individuals this version of earth had progressed more slowly than the one that had Rikti technology to profit from. It wasn't until recently that a one of a kind, prototype dimensional portal was created by the Reich.

Though they were mostly flying blind, they established some recon on Paragon's reality. Operation Erleuchtung was conceived for a group of the elite soldiers of the Reich to infiltrate the Rogue Isles, dethrone the despotic Recluse, destroy Arachnos, and unite the people under the "benevolent" rule of the Reich. The Isles would become the staging ground for the spreading of what the Reich saw as enlightenment to the rest of the world.

Of course, the never defeated Reich vastly overestimated the potential of its super elite soldiers. While they were able to hold their own in combat with other super powered individuals they were no match for the vast numbers and technology that Arachnos held. The insurgency was crushed, the portal destroyed, and Vogel was the only one to escape with her life, though she lost an eye in the struggle to remain alive.

[edit] Stranger in a strange land

Because the prototype portal was destroyed Vogel was stranded in Paragon's reality, hunted by Arachnos agents. Thankfully she wasn't seen as too much of a threat; the portal destroyed and being the sole survivor. Eventually she realized that she was going to need money to compete in this corrupt society. Fortunately for Vogel there was an abundance of black market trading going on, and it was very easy to break in by killing one of the dealers and taking over their business.

Over time she established herself as a prominent figure on the black market, trafficking a wide variety of arms. As her notoriety grew the heroes came. They called her evil, a villain, and tried to beat her. So she reciprocated in kind, leaving her caught between Arachnos who wanted her dead - or worse - and heroes who would see her in jail - or worse.

Of course, in her mind, she was a hero. But nobody really agreed with her in this strange world.

[edit] Quest for Rikti technology

It wasn't hard for Vogel to buy a scientist on the inside of Grandville. Unfortunately, this yielded little. The technology used by both Arachnos and its counterpart Portal Corp was simply too primitive to locate her version of earth. This didn't surprise her much, after her treatment by Arachnos and the heroes of Paragon she had a faint suspicion that had either faction gotten her home in their sights they would have invaded long ago.

The answer came to her one day when one of her convoys got trapped by a Rikti assault. She knew little of the two invasions, save what little was told her and what little she learned by clashing with the Lost. When she saw their technology in process, including their mastery of portals and teleportation, she knew where she should look next; the Rikti warzone. Perhaps there, at the heart of the resistance of these extra-dimensional beings, she might find the answer she was seeking, the way home.

She's spent a long time building up the money and reputation to buy herself access to the warzone. Will she find what she seeks there?
