Although still only an eight year old, Aiko has developed her intellectual side several years ahead of her time. This is due to her Kheldian minds Haruto and Daichi teaching her when she is free from fighting crime and when she is in school. She has proven this time and time again in her study, as she has memorised the majority of the history of Paragon City and achieved B+'s across the board in her school work.

Although she often uses the forms of her Kheldian minds herself, she often allows them to take control and 'stretch their legs'. When Haruto and Daichi however are out and in control of their designated form, any speaking will be directed at the form in question. Aiko will most likely hear and be able to speak through the form however. Whilst one of the Kheldian minds is in control of their form, the intelligence of the speaker will increase by a large amount, due to the fact that the Kheldian mind would be talking.

[edit] Personality

Notably a stubborn girl. Has developed along from being a timid, quiet girl to being much more confident in herself and has become more forceful, and will make a threat of violence is she deems it necessary. On the note of confidence, she has no problem asking people questions. Although she does lose her confidence when she talks to someone she really admires or someone she has feelings for.

She likes having attention of people and often frowns and feels left out when she isn't being spoken too. Recently after she became a noticed, popular hero a radio company stuck a theme song to her name. They chose the song 'Number One' - by Hazel Fernandes. Aiko however was not bothered by this, in fact, she liked it. She liked the song, and she liked the attention it brought her. Since she has been seen as noticeable enough for this, she has been getting pleased greetings from citizens and she has had several good words put in for her on the radio, in the newspapers and even a small glimpse of her talking to a civilian on television. She is the black sheep of the family. While her relatives are kind and caring, generous and loving. She is a hot head. She can spontaneously change from the 'sweet little girl act' at home and around her family, to the hotheaded, hot blooded, short tempered girl she is in the streets, in action and in Pocket D.

Although she is still young, constant exposure to varying aspects of Pocket D and other areas of Paragon have left her with the thought that it doesn't matter who you love, all that matters is that love is there. This has caused her to drop all attractions to males. The addition of the Kheldian minds has opened her eyes to love between people and she has, as a result, developed feelings for other girls her age that she doesn't truly understand. She refuses explanation from her Kheldian minds as this, her attraction to girls, is one adventure she wants to explore without their help.

Aiko has very few ambitions to say the least. She is simply happy to help. Although, she does have one primary ambition which has been the constant laughing stock of the school before she got her powers and became feared by the other kids. Even before she had her powers, when her heroic days were a mere dream, Aiko wanted to, and still wants, to save the world.

As a child, she is very fond of the badges she earns commending her heroics around the city and is certainly not afraid to point them out. She will often use some of the badges as examples to prove a point, such as using her 'tough' badge, to prove she's now push over. Or using the various achievement badges she's earned to show she knows how to bring down the bad guys. She is especially proud of her 'Giant Monster' badges that the Freedom Phalanx have awarded her for bringing down the giant plights on the city.

Aiko had always dreamed of being a hero. After school she would spend hour after hour around the statue in Atlas Park, which was also in view of the classroom. She would simply sit there, watching the various heroes and admire their incredible displays of power and their amazing performance of skill. When in school she would often daydream about what powers she would have or what kind of super villains she would defeat, this of course, got her into trouble with her teacher for not paying attention. When her father, William, found out about this she grounded Aiko and confined her to her room in a hope that it would teach her the lesson she needed to learn. Of course this attempt failed miserably as she decided to sneak out of her window about half an hour later. After she had escaped her small little prison cell she headed off, surprise surprise, to the Atlas statue. Now William, he was a smart one, he knew Aiko would sneak off to the statue and he made his way there herself. The moment Aiko saw him, she darted off into the park where she saw a faint blue glow behind a tree.

She was curious, she wandered over to the source of the glow carefuly, and found a wounded Kheldian. Suddenly she saw a chance to be a hero, she attempted to lift the Kheldian into her arms so she could carry it to a medical facility. This, however, was a vain attempt due to the fact that Kheldians are pure energy beings and it's weakened state had left it intangible. A sort of safety mechanism to prevent further harm. She sat with the Kheldian for a good hour and a half, listening intently to the story of how it was wounded. 'I was wounded by a powerful being. Much more powerful than most of the petty villains around here.'

When he was finished, he listened carefully to Aiko's own story. How she wanted to be a hero, and protect people. When she looked at the Kheldian, she felt an incredible bond of trust to him. Even though she had met him not two hours before, she felt she could trust him with almost any information. So, she decided, she could trust him with her deepest, strongest fantasy. One that had caused her embarrassment in front of her class on 'dreamers day' at school and one that she thought impossible to reach.

'I want to save the world some day. From some evil super villain.'

As the Kheldian heard this, he was processing the chances of him surviving, without a host. This turned out a very vague possibility and he relayed to Aiko. 'You say you wish to become a hero? And save the world some day? Child...I am in a state where I shall die in a matter of minutes, I must make you a single offer. Would you become my humble host? In return for my life, I shall teach you. You shall progress faster in your studies and you shall be able to live your dream. Together, you could be that hero, and perhaps save the world some day.

Aiko's eyes glistened at the idea. Knowing there was not much time for the Kheldian, she accepted and did as she was told to perform the merging. Five minutes passed and it was done. Aiko lay unconscious in the park when Carol found her, and she was admitted to the Accident and Emergency department of the hospital, due to the uncommon nature of her state. She was like this for several days, while the Kheldian linked in to her mind, developing the bond and becoming one. This process took an extra day longer than intended due to the fact that the second Kheldian mind was slow. It was an uncommon event, a single person hosting to two Kheldian minds.

Her school life after she was discharged from hospital went from bad to worse. She was picked on excessively for being a freak. Technically she wasn't even fully human any more, and the other kids were not afraid to point this out at every opportunity. One of the kids, who lived near Aiko, was the worst of them. He tormented her all the way too school, all the way through school, all the way home from school and even sometimes at home. They also started to pick up on her hair colour, it was changing rapidly from a chocolate brown colour to a mixture of pink and blue. This simply fuelled the insults until...She could and would not take any more.

During the first day of the summer holidays, she walked up to the front door of her least favourite person, rang the bell and waited. Thankfully, it was he, who opened the door. With a quick motion, she had used something the Kheldian minds had taught her, broken his arm and punch him in the nose, breaking it and making it bleed. With that, he never said a thing to Aiko again, news of the incident spread fast however and she was quickly feared throughout the school. She was happy. People left her alone at school, and with permission from the Freedom Phalanx themselves, she could leave school whenever she wanted too as her Kheldian companions could teach her, and so she could use her powers to fight crime. And one day...save the world.

[edit] Recent history

Recently, Aiko's mother, Mizuki, has been saying that if she's old enough to be putting herself in the face of evil then she's old enough to earn money doing it. As a result, Aiko has managed to convince the PPD to recruit her. Not only did she ascend the ranks quickly to get her preferred position of field commander, giving her command of filed units and let her get to the front lines of the fight, but it made her the youngest member to join the force to date, let alone ascend ranks in a commanding role.

[edit] Motivation

Upon first becoming a peacebringer, she encountered a group of thugs mugging a woman of her purse. Aiko took it upon herself to stop these thugs and set things right. She was, however, overpowered and put to gunpoint for interfering. She regained inspiration from the woman who had stayed to support Aiko and managed to regain the fight and return the woman's purse. The look of joy and thanks on the woman's face filled Aiko's heart with satisfaction and she vowed to always fight the good fight.

Aiko's father, William Star, is one of the executives for BUKI-TEK. He is a kind and generous man, slightly ironic seeing as he is an executive of a weapons manufacturing mega-corp. William may be one of the executives of BUKI-TEK but he is also one of the lead researchers and developers with access to a array of hi-tech machines and a group of scientists.

BUKI-TEK is a massive mega-corp involved in the development and manufacture of weapons, supposedly for the US military. The weapons developed here, some very notable ones from Aiko's father, have revolutionised the way the military thinks and acts.

BUKI-TEK is divided into divisions. Aiko's father is head of division two. The heads of departments and divisions are fairly competitive, each trying to out-do the others' work, as such, most the leaders of the groups name the developed product after themselves, to gain full credit for their work.

Her Japanese mother, Mizuki Star, much like her American father, is kind and caring. She is a nurse at the Atlas Park hospital and was there to care for Aiko when she was hospitalised from the Kheldian merging.

[edit] Grandfather

Aiko's grandfather, Hiroshi Isamu, from her mother's side of the family owns an antique shop in the new renovated Faultline district. Like a lot of her relatives he is kind and generous. He has recently taken to training her in the art of sword's play and martial arts due to his ancient ancestry link to the samurai. This has greatly aided her natural strength, agility and spatial awareness. Archery is another common practice when Aiko visits her grandfather.

Her name was chosen by her mother, with the consent of her father.

The name Aiko is from Japanese 愛 (ai) "love, affection" and 子 (ko) "child".

Ren is from Japanese 蓮 "lotus" or 恋 "romance, love".

And Saki is from Japanese 咲 (sa) "blossom" and 希 (ki) "hope".

The Kheldian mind assigned to the 'Bright Nova' form is named 'Haruto'.

Aiko has given this name as a symbol of his abilities. He is constantly flying and is very bright, whos light resembles that of the sun.

From Japanese 陽 (haru) "sun, sunlight", 遥 (haru) "distant" or 晴 (haru) "clear up" combined with 斗 (to), which refers to the constellation Ursa Major, or 翔 (to) "soar, fly".

The Kheldian mind assigned to the 'White Dwarf' form is named 'Daichi'

Aiko has given this name due to the form assigned to this mind and his vast inelegance. Although Daichi is the strongest of the forms, he is also the most intelligent and constantly furthers Aiko's knowledge. he was dubbed with this name due to his large size, his connection with the earth seeing as her cannot fly and her intellect.

From Japanese 大 (dai) "large, great" combined with 地 (chi) "earth, land" or 智 (chi) "wisdom, intellect".

Aiko has recently learnt from her Kheldian minds how to alter the genetic structure of a being. She has however only mastered using this on herself and can not currently alter others.

She can also use her vast amount of energy to supercharge her muscles. This can be used to intensify her running, jumping and more notably, her strength. With this she can often lift things far bigger and heavier than herself, not to mention put bag guys through walls and smash them down herself.

Ever since Aiko merged with the Kheldian in the park, she has had near limitless amounts of physical energy. She could run around for hours on end. She could quite easily run a marathon without needing a single break or even getting tired and this is often a cause for concern. At much of an asset this epic amount of energy is, it has her constantly bordering on the brink of hyperactivity. And although for your average kid, hyperactivity will just get them jumping around for a while until they burn it off. Aiko however, looses control of herself, something that her Kheldians cannot override, and she will begin to leak very large amounts of Kheldian energy from her body due to her needing a minor degree of focus or willing permission for one of her kheldian minds to contain it for her. The amount she releases upon entering hyperactivity is so concentrated they it actually becomes lethal to those in close contact to her.

She has recently been taught how to harness this titanic amount of energy into a storage outsider her body in the form of electricity. This allows her to store much more, although, her energy is still growing and soon, even this method will not be able to contain it. Thankfully she has been taught to release massive amounts of energy at once in the form of attacks and Kheldian blasts to help quell her energy reserves until she can safely store it.
