Marjaneh Keser assumed the mantle of the Masked Angel already at the age of 14, when her mother was gravely injured on a mission and rendered unable to continue her crime-fighting activities.

Marjaneh had been trained to one day assume this role since she was a little girl and was able to succesfully uphold the family tradition.

While attending University, she fell in love with a charismatic exchange student from Turkey, Mehmet Keser. Arrangements were made for the two to become married. Marjaneh managed to combine studying and her new role as a housewife with maintaining her secret alter ego of the Masked Angel, and continued her crime-fighting activities, to which her husband was clueless.

When Marjaneh was 20, the couple moved to London where Mehmet had found work. Marjaneh had become pregnant and soon gave birth to a daughter, Meriam. Two years later, a boy, Davod, was born.

Mehmet's career was not proceeding as he had imagined, and as he forbade Marjaneh to work, the family's financial situation was poor. At the same time, Mehmet had started drinking and becoming increasingly suspicious, constantly questioning Marjaneh's actions and effectively rendering it impossible for her to act as the Masked Angel.

A few years later, the family moved to Kings Row. Again, Mehmet's professional career faltered, and to make matters worse, he had been spying on his wife and - unbeknownst to Marjaneh - had discovered her secret of being the Masked Angel.

Unable to cope with having a wife that was more powerful and succesful than himself, Mehmet's drinking increased, and he grew increasingly dominant and abusive towards his wife and family. Also, he started adopting a fundamentalist religious stance, one, however, that did not stop him from drinking, but mainly manifested itself in more and more restrictive demands as to Marjaneh's and Meriam's behaviour.

Secretly, Marjaneh had been training Meriam to one day become the next Masked Angel, as this was a tradition that ran among the eldest daughters of the family. At the age of 14, just like Marjaneh had done, Meriam made her debut as the Masked Angel, with her mother still keeping herself fit and still donning the mask and costume from time to time.

As Mehmet grew increasingly demanding and abusive, Marjaneh finally decided that enough was enough, and left her husband. The destitute family was offered a place to stay at the house belonging to "Jay" Renolds, the Crimson Archer, and this is where Marjaneh is currently trying to pick up the pieces of her somewhat broken life.
