Mary's primary talent is her regeneration skills. Wounds close almost instantly and damaged organs rebuild themselves quickly. She can even regenerate lost limbs given time, though this is rarely necessary. The constant regrowth of damaged tissue has also granted other benefits however - her super strength and speed. With her body tissue constantly regenerating, it strengthens the muscles in her body allowing for greater performance than normal humans can achieve.
[edit] Unnatural Evolution
While her birth skill was regeneration, Mary Grace has been exposed to countless viruses and radiations which have dramatically altered her original genome. With her altered DNA came new abilities, many beyond her wildest expectations.
The first ability she obtained was the power of flight. A normally fatal radiation dose altered a previously unharnessed part of the brain allowing her to manipulate the air around her using her mind. While not powerful enough to be useful as an attack, it allowed her to lift her body off the ground by manipulating the various particles in the air to push herself skywards at an alarming velocity.
Her second ability was the power to project powerful heat beams from her eyes. The radiation from the Terra Volta reactor caused a mutation allowing her optical nerve to generate excess heat which could then be focused as a powerful beam through the lens of her eye. Her regeneration minimises the risk this ability poses to her eyesight, but it carries with it the chance of temporary blindness everytime she uses it.

Born under the name Mary Inglewood, she was placed under adoption at a young age. Her birth parents had trouble's coping with her mutant strength and believed she was a cursed child. The adoption agency they had chose, however, was not used to handling children with gifts of her magnitude and an accident forced them to place the child into the care of a super hero. The name of the hero was never disclosed as a means to protect the child from her new parent's enemies.
Under the watchful gaze of her new mother, she learned the value of human life, even those who had cruelly taunted her mutant abilities and elfin-like ears; the only visible aspect of her mutation. As such, she used her abilities alongside her parent for the wellbeing of all good citizens regardless of race, creed or gender. As a result, she earned herself the monicker "Grace" for her compassion in helping those in need.
Her adopted mother later died by a virus released by the 5th Column to which there was no known cure. Mary would have also died if not for her own powerful regeneration and immune systems which fought off the disease. A potentially deadly spread was thwarted by the heroes of Paragon City after a quarrantine was put into place. After the death of her mother, Mary took up the void left by her absence and became known as Mary Grace, a heroine who ceaselessly battles evil.

Mary won't admit it, but she has a particular fondness for cuddly toys and furry animals.
