A group of us that have been in the game a little over 2 years, and played extensively together for most of that time, all fancied using the Samurai armours from the veteran rewards. We decided to form an all-oriental team and super-group for that purpose. My first character for that team was a Scrapper (that I still have) but we soon noticed that we were short of a tanker, and since a tanker was the AT I most wanted to create on Union anyway at that time, Long Snowflame was born.

His personality is one of great loyalty and obedience to duty and tradition. He is in many ways something of a fighting monk, seeking self-perfection and enlightenment in mastery of himself under pressure (pressure such as combat being ideal). He is very centered, self-aware, and a real joy to play and explore.

Long Snowflame's most important loyalty is to family. He is of a clan of Chinese Dragons ruled by a Matriarch Dragon. The clan is caste-based, with each dragon being specifically concieved for an equally specific role, although there are rare historical examples of Dragons that chose their own different path from the one they were born to. Snowflame is warrior-born, sired by an alpha-male warior dragon selected for heroism and loyalty by his clan's Matron.

Long's secondary loyalty is to the distant relative his clan sent him to escort, Lord Orochi. Lord Orochi is a human reincarnation of a dragon, Orochi, that went rogue in ancient Japan and must now repair his karma.

Snowflame's deepest loyalty however is to a human woman in whom, as unlikely as it may seem, he found his true soul-mate - the mutant human heroine Sister Kinetic

Snowflame is an Oriental Dragon. A member of an intensely spiritual race of creatures who are effectively nature spirits. Oriental dragons have always been known to be able to take on other forms, and most especially human form, the better to explore and experience all that life has to offer their curious and studious minds.

This spirituality gives most Oriental dragons little regard for the material things, and since they can take on many forms, they place little trust or meaning in appearances. Snowflame is fairly typical in this regard, though he naturally questions the motives of those who actively rejoice in spreading ugliness and discord in the world.

Snowflame has a zen-like calm and acceptance of most things, seeking self-mastery and self-perfection. His immense strength and somewhat brutish appearance often decieve those who do not know his quiet inner-peace, gentle and caring nature, and many artistic talents.

He has studied Bushido (the Way of the Warrior) in Japan during the late Seventeenth and early Eighteenth Centuries, serving as a samurai to a Daimyo. There he was taught, as all samurai, to be courtly and to pursue the arts of peace and beauty with every bit as much dedication of the arts of war.

Snowflame enjoys painting, poetry, gardening, cooking, singing, music (especially traditional folk-songs), and dancing.

Loyalty, duty, and self-sacrifice. Snowflame was raised from birth (and specifically bred) as a Warrior-Born dragon. He is the shield of society, the protector of that which is gentle and peaceful.

He serves his clan, his lord, and his family without hesitation in any honorable request, and would give his life without regret or remorse if so ordered. He has a wide perception of the natural order and balances of the world, and a deep acceptance of what life brings that he may perfect himself through.

Like many of his kind, Snowflame has great affinity with natural energies and forces, especially those of fire and storms.

Ice Armour. Snowflame is able to surround his body with icy powers, even totally encasing himself in thick layers of ice to armour himself against harm. In some cases he creates such extreme cold that metal weapons are prone to shatter upon hitting him.

Fiery Melee. Drawing upon the fiery nature of his own spirit, Snowflame can create intense heat and fire with which to scorch and burn his foes. He is well aware that the psychological effects of such a weapon are just as effective as the heat, and often cause defeat without serious harm to the foe.

Body Mastery: Snowflame has superb control of his reflexes and body, allowing him to focus his attention, and accurately hit very difficult targets with ease.

Leaping - in his humanized form, his body is no longer suited for true flight, and instead allows only huge soaring leaps, hundreds of yards in length and height.

Fitness - Snowflame is a natural born warrior of a race legendary for their power and vitality. His physical swiftness, health, and stamina are all far in excess of human norms.

Speed - Snowflame is able to focus his chi to dramatically hasten his ability to strike, recover and strike again for a short duration.

Fighting - Snowflame is extensively trained and experienced in many forms of combat, and uses his training to make the most of his innate powers. He packs a powerful focussed punch, is a master of Chinese Boxing, and can dodge and weave with an agility unbelievable of his size and build.

Snowflame can change his form, for he is primarily a spiritual creature, and his matter is largely determined by the will of his spirit.

Like all Oriental Dragons, he has powerful spiritual senses. He can also 'open up' his spirit to most sentient creatures and create a link of spiritual communication. In such a link, each creature is directly in touch with and aware of the spirit or soul of the other, instinctively sensing their truest nature, motivations, etc.

A cellphone. Provided by a contact when Snowflame first began working with Hero Corps, this cellphone is always carefully carried by Snowflame.

Samurai blades. Snowflame owns an exquisitely master-crafted set of samurai weapons, comprising a Katana, Wakizashi, and Tanto with matching designs and accessories. The weapons were made by master sword-maker Akiro Maru in 1785, and were given to Snowflame as a gift from the human that he served at the time. These weapons are kept in a fine carved wooden locker in the Orient Excess base. He will not wear carry, nor even bare, these weapons except when in the employ of a Daimyo as a true Samurai. The Katana has never been resheathed once drawn without drawing blood.
