[edit] Affiliations
After a meeting with Ryan "Cindersnap" Andrews, Liberty Girl became a member of the Unity Vigil in the early part of 2008. Prior to that, Liberty Girl's closest association was with the heroine Columbia, before the latter's unexplained and unresolved disappearance over a year ago, then subsequent re-integration back into the Paragon City hero community. She is believed to have been in relationships with, among others, Rosalin Thorne, Starborn, and, more recently, has become very closely attached to Nitoichi
[edit] Adversaries
Although Liberty Girl's obsession with trapping Bambi Delight has apparently faded, that villainess nevertheless remains the single most personal target for Libby's enmity.
[edit] Personality
Typically bouncy and happy during her off-duty periods, Liberty Girl is nonetheless professional and relentless in pursuit of her official duties. She enjoys what she does; holding back the threats to Law, Order, Peace and Justice is a vocation which she embraces with enthusiasm.
[edit] Motivation
Liberty Girl is driven by a strong sense of Right and Wrong, and a firm belief that wielding her great power demands great responsibility. She was only very recently, in her waking experience, part of a world rent by war between the forces of democracy and freedom on the one hand, and the forces of totalitarianism and Nazism on the other. She started her life as a costumed crimefighter by taking on the neo-Nazi Council, whom she still despises, but she tries to apply the doctrines she was taught in the 1940s regarding those values of democracy and freedom to the contemporary world. She abides by a maxim attributed to her former mentor, Columbia: "I do because it should be done, and while others can't, I can." Since widening her circle of heroic friends, she also enjoys taking part in the activities of the heroing community. And, since forming a relationship with Nitoichi, has redoubled her efforts to bring her own particular force to bear against the Rikti, the particular target of her lover's own, special, hatred.
[edit] Powers
[edit] Primary Powers
What enables Liberty Girl to go about her work is her extraordinary physiology, which recovers health and stamina at a rapid, vastly superior rate to standard human physiology. She heals almost instantly from wounds, and can endure prolonged effort without tiring.
[edit] Secondary Powers
Liberty Girl posesses superior strength to normal human levels, and has been trained in unarmed combat to a high degree. Her strength, focused into highly trained martial arts, can bring down almost any opponent.
[edit] Additional Powers
[edit] Travel
Although at speeds considerably slower than a jet aircraft, Liberty Girl can fly, unaided by mechanical or technological means, for an undetermined distance - making aywhere on earth within her reach. How she achieves this is not known, but attributed to a development in her enhanced physiology.
[edit] Power Pool
[edit] Abilities
Liberty Girl is a skilled and well-trained martial artist.
[edit] Vulnerabilities
Although her rates of recovery and regeneration are phenomenal, they are not insurmountable to a determined enemy who can bring sufficient force to bear for long enough. She has, for example, been recorded as having been overwhelmed by a large group of powerfully armed and armoured Rikti officers. On occasions such as these it is her overconfidence in her abilities that can periodically lead her to charge into situations before adequate consideration. And although her body may heal itself with incredible rapidity, attacks are far from painless.
Liberty Girl's physiological regenerative abilities are also impaired whenever she undergoes prolonged periods of ineffective sleep and inadequate diet. Without sufficient rest, fuel, or concentration, her physiology seems to slow down.

[edit] Character History
During World War II, Allied scientists were attempting to uncover a technique that would enable them to create a "super-soldier" to aid in the war against fascism - but a bomb planted by Axis spies destroyed everyone and everything in the lab - except for traces of an experimental serum that was splashed by the explosion onto the skin of Linda Lee, a lowly lab technician. The superheat of the explosion had forced a reaction in the compounds of the serum that the doomed scientists had been striving for, and lowly lab technician Linda Lee's body began to change...
The serum maintained Linda's body in stasis until the forgotten lab was unearthed by a construction crew. Linda was revived and trained to enter Public service as the super-soldier her long-dead comrades had strived for - only this time her foes would be more than just Axis fascists: Engaged at last in the fight for Law, Order, Peace and Justice, Linda Lee was taken under the wing of the patriotic superheroine Columbia and took the name Liberty Girl. Together, they formed a red-white-and-blue wall against the forces of evil and oppression, until one day Columbia, Liberty Girl's closest, if not only, associate, apparently disappeared while answering a call for help in Warburg.
After losing Columbia, Liberty Girl was assigned to Longbow, but her services became "no longer required" after several disciplinary notes regarding recklessness. She was subsequently introduced to Unity Vigil by Ryan "Cindersnap" Andrews and invited to join; an invitation she accepted eagerly, not least because it came with free accommodation.
For some time Liberty Girl suspected Bambi Delight of murdering Columbia, and pursued her with a relentless obsession, at one time entering the Rogue Isles under an assumed identity. While in the Isles, she was set up and attacked by the forces actually responsible for Columbia's abduction and brainwashing. The brainwashed Columbia herself took part in the attack, and Liberty Girl was eventually rescued by her most hated enemy, Bambi Delight, along with members of a covert Unity Vigil strike team.
Columbia was eventually rescued by Bambi Delight and the mercenary Leatherette. She returned to Paragon City but the residual mental wounds of her experience left her a shadow of her former self. She eventually returned to the isles to seek a permanent cure, but not before falling out, violently, with both Liberty Girl and Nitoichi.
