Kidnapped by Tsoo as an infant, baby Jessica was brought up in captivity and taught from little to fight. Turning out to be a martial arts prodigy, she was given a costume and forced to fight under the name of Shadow Whisper. Plagued by a strange dream and a vague memory of a friendly voice calling out to someone named Jessica, she escaped captivity. With only a medallion with a name engraved in it to go on, she embarked on a journey to find Jessica Chang, whose destiny seemed somehow linked to her own. Finally, after much frustration and suffering, she found out that Jessica Chang was the kidnapped daughter of a famous superhero known as Lady Cobra. After a battle in which she fought and defeated Lady Cobra, she discovered that she herself was Jessica Chang, and mother and daughter were finally reunited. Jessie now lives with her mother in Founders Falls and has decided to employ her skills in the services of justice. In that capacity, she has maintained her Rogue Isles identity of Shadow Whisper and frequently performs undercover assignments there.
