Intussusceptor is of science origin. Very little is known: who did the experiments? why? when? where? which purpose?

Intussusceptor joined the Young Conservatives, the youth wing of the Moderate Party. He supported neo-libertarian values, and argued for legalizing insider trade and dramatic tax cuts.

Intussusceptor started to study at university after his draft. He studied macro economics and laissez faire capitalism. He fell in love with Lenina, who studied physics.
He got in touch with biology students. They were all harassed by socialists who protested against animal tests. It was harassment for the sake of harassment rather than sympathy for the animals. Harassment included bad gossip, e-mail intrusion and stalking. While most other students dismissed the protests as ignorant white rich kids, Lenina and he took it more serious. They founded a libertarian free-market student union.
On the initializing, Intussusceptor made a speech in which he made a scathing attack on socialism and animal rights activism. The libertarian union protected the biologist students from harassment, and it boosted their productivity and studies to heavens. Within a few months, the university gained international reputation, and CDC contracted them to study a dangerous strain of the wijnja virus. In order to prevent terrorists obtaining the virus samples, the contract was confidential.

One day, Lenina warned Intussusceptor about that the earth was in the brink of vaporization due to inconvenient findings in the new M-brane theory. Minor gravity anomalies showed that another m-brane was heading our way. In case of a direct collision, the effect would be anything from an unbound solar system to a new Big Bang, depending of the mass of the colliding brane. There is nothing we can do against it, we can only hope for a miss.
However, even if the branes completely miss each other, there is another danger. In a world where people actually believe that using a cell phone can cause cancer, a possible destruction of the world has the potential to invoke global panic. Political extremists might want to exploit the findings to spread chaos. What if the socialists retaliate? He did therefore advice Lenina to keep the findings in a narrow circle, and use strong encryption in e-mail, since the socialists use to hack e-mail accounts and spy on conversations.
Lenina followed his advice. According to additional studies, it was rather a self-collision of our brane rather than a head-on collision with another. Destruction would be limited to our own region in space. While we would be toast, a civilization on Alpha Centauri would probably survive and experience the greatest cosmic fireworks of all the times. After months of more studies, the end of the world was dated to May 23rd, 2002.
When Lenina and he know that it could be the last day of existence, they wanted to make their last day as fun as possible. They made love during the last minutes of existence. Suddenly, the room was lit by mysterious lights from the sky. Could this be other planets in our solar system that was incinerated by the collision? The last three minutes had arrived. The sky went green, and mysterious explosions occurred in random locations. This was the ultimate end, a great sex and then witnessing the end of the world from the front-row. Suddenly, everything was black…
A few hours, they woke up. They world appeared to actually…exist! But it was like a war outside. Lenina measured the current raw gravity data, and found out that no collision at all occurred. The distance between the brane parts had stabilized at a “mere” 100 times the distance between the earth and the sun. With that close distance, an advanced civilization can create shortcuts in the bulk space (wormholes) to reach us instead of bothering about interstellar travel. This is what actually happened; it was the first encounter of Rikti!
[edit] Dancing the night away
Global coalition forces did eventually thwart the Rikti invasion attempt. The local death toll was a mere 144 people, and most destroyed buildings where rebuilt within two years. Intussusceptor hadn’t chosen the dark side at that time, and he admired how the brave heroes dressed in spandex secured our freedom.
After that, an upper class area with lots of nightclubs and exclusive restaurants was renamed to Spandex Plaza. It was here where wealthy businessmen had drinks with Longbow Wardens and danced the nights away with Seawitch. However, under the beautiful front, criminal gangs like Family and Tsoo secretly control the restaurants. Those who afford and have the right connections can eat fried babies at Tsoo inns.
The Spandex Plaza did also host lots of new companies. The beautiful area attracted costumers, and the apartment prices skyrocked. The unemployment rate of the entire region was almost zero, growth was immense and the municipality was able to pay off loans. "Not even the peak oil can hurt us", municipal official said. But as with the fried babies, junk actors spread like a cancer to the successful entrepreneurs. For example, the growing web development business was hurt by domain name ticket-scalpers and rouge telemarketers.
As 90 percent of all new registered domain names where junk domains, the junk actors posed a threat to the web business and the growth. But before any politician even mentioned the domain issue, a sollution came from another matter. Rumours about rouge domainers disappeared, being assassinated or even lust murdered circulated. The developer community did first deny the disappearances; productive companies didn't want to be connected to murder and the rouge ones would be scared out of business. A spokesperson for Microsoft stated the rumour as "complete nonsense" in an interview.
Despite the denials, the figures for junk domains was finally on decline...

One evening, Intussusceptor went to a party in northern Spandex Plaza. He meets a hot female Longbow Warden on his way to the party. The Warden had a tight spandex suit decorated with horns. She was so hot that Intussusceptor couldn’t resist. She insisted to have sex in her apartment, approx one mile east of Spandex Plaza. It was a night to remember.
A Longbow Warden is the Security personified. They know what safe sex is, and keep quiet about sexual adventures. Unlike in church-sponsored Hollywood movies with insulting bad physics, the unfaithfulness didn’t cause any trouble. In fact, it saved Intussusceptor from a gruesome death, more on this later.
[edit] Terrorist attacks
The devastation caused by Rikti was nothing compared to a ruthless terrorist attack that made the September 11th a mere schoolboy prank.
By hacking e-mail conversations, the socialists read an internal mail between two students that was sent with weak encryption. The socialists where a part of a neo-Maoist network, who planned biological terrorism. The wijnja virus was an agent of choice, and a cure most be prevented at all costs.
A silent assassination of the group of five who studied the virus would be too obvious. In order to obscure the motives, the Maoists invoked a tragic school shooting; killing 16 students and four teachers. The assault was successful – all five involved was killed, and the other students and teachers tough it was just a tragic shooting, with no political motives.
Lenina and he felt quite certain that the purpose of the shooting was to prevent the research of the virus. Nevertheless, they were blamed for anti-communist conspiracy theories. The government would either not believe them, or overreact and declare martial law. His military contacts remained. His meeting the officers went successful, but it would take days to gather enough soldiers who were trained with biological warfare.

It was too late. Reports about a mysterious illness came in. The symptoms where probable wijnja – prolapsed intestines, boils, purple rash, haemorrhages, high fever and vomiting. Lenina outraged when the news came in, and she lost control over her electromagnetic superpowers – triggering an electromagnetic pulse that blacked out thousands of homes.
Intussusceptor chooses to stay in the city. Massive refugee waves would clog the roads, and the military would likely shoot on sight to prevent the virus from spreading outside city.
According to the dead students, the mortality rate for the studied strain of the virus - Wijnja Seraphina - was around 15 percent. It would be difficult to contain the epidemic in town, and if it spread across Europe, as many as half a million could die. The authorities refusal to take precautions for the sake of political correctness could be the worst genocide since Rwanda.

A few days later, it was confirmed that the new deadly disease was caused by a wijnja virus. A classified report about the death count was staggering - the mortality rate was way higher than the expected! Reports from nurses treating the sick was outrageous beyond imagination.
Later, it was confirmed that the strain was called Carolina, and is more infectous than Seraphina.
The mortality rate of the virus where alarmingly high and there was no cure. Death could come within hours, but some patients struggled with the disease for weeks before succumbing. The virus did also infect the brain, and left surviving patients with serious brain damage. Common effects of the brain damage included borderline personality disorder, eating disorders, reduced IQ and memory loss.
Some patients developed a “mild” version of the disease, with no haemorrhages or prolapse, and the effects of the brain infection where limited to headache and reduction of serotonin and GABA levels. Still, that so called mild version caused more sense of sickness than Sars, and the patient could struggle with anxiety and depression for months before stabilizing serotonin levels.

No matter how outrageous the illness was, Intussusceptor felt quite safe staying inside, and trusted the authorities handling the crisis well. His food supply was enough for weeks, and he had beer to calm down when needed. The news reported about that all those who contracted the disease first have been at Spandex Plaza on the same night as he cheated with the Longbow Warden. A tobacco-leather briefcase with an aerosol canister was actually found at the nightclub he planned to join. A medical expert explained that anyone near the briefcase would contract an elevated concentration of the virus, triggering the hemorrhagic form of the disease.
“What if I didn’t cheat with the Longbow Warden? I would likely bleed to death”
But on the 10th day, he drank way too much. He lost his rational believe in the authorities, and decided to escape the city and join Lenina. With around 0.11 percent of alcohol in his blood system, he drove away from the city.
Despite the alcohol, the road trip went fine. He went to Lenina in a city 50 miles away. At that time, he explained the successful drunk driving as “God kept me on the road”. He didn’t know that his cellular anomalies had the side effect of maintaining great reaction speed and body balance under influence of alcohol and drugs.

Intussusceptor was not able to study because of the epidemic. During the break, he had the time to read some books to fill the gaps in his political map. He started with Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein, which would later inspire him after going rouge. The book was now just annoying, and he muttered "why do i bother reading that left-wing twat" occasionally. Next book was the SCUM manifesto. SCUM stands for "Society for Cutting Up Men", and he couldn't resist imagining Pinochet using the book for inspiration in the repression against the reds. He was also impressed by the fact that the book was legally redistributed by the Swedish author Sara Stridsberg - the whole idea of masquerading fascism as "feminism" was very clever, and her profit was a sign that Sweden at least that small seeds of capitalism.
He was later contacted by PSWA, Pregnant Smokers With Attitude, who supported the book. They asked him some strange questions if he wanted to support a pro-smoking campaign. Obviously, some of the readers of the SCUM manifesto was contacted. At that time, he just dismissed the contact as ridiculous.
[edit] Choosing the dark side
As more and more succumbed to the virus, the public doubted if the authorities could contain the outbreak in the University City. The numbers of infected where still on the rise. The government assured that “the situation is under control” and “we will have a cure soon”, but no one bought it. The people did instead start to blame privatised health care for not being able to handle a possible epidemic. The mistrust in capitalism exploded and socialist parties and movements got more supporters.
Intussusceptor did now doubt the very heart of libertarianism, the idea of spreading capitalism with peaceful and democratic methods. If communists and Nazis can kill millions to achieve their political goals, then killing a handful in the name of free market has to be more acceptable. When Mao Tse-tung killed 37 millions, the communists adore him, but when Pinochet fixed the economy in Chile for the cost of a few thousands lives, the libs whined.
Intussusceptor joined his fellow friends from the draft, and formed a strike force. They volunteered as guardians in criminal areas and fought the rabble with controversial methods. They let people who looked like easy victims carry around laptops and expensive cell phones, and shot the robbers on sight.

Intussusceptor travelled to Caracas and made company with hundreds that wanted to fight for financial freedom in Latin America. The socialist movements grew stronger, and threatened the investments of transnational corporations. Drug trafficking claimed life on US soil. The name for the operation was "la Represión". His forces was supported from the homeland by an aid organization.
In order to survive the comming battle, Intussusceptor set forth a fitness policy of tough training. He declared that he wanted "to make la Represión not an army of blasters, but a army of tankers". Intussusceptor appointed a group of fitness advisors who had been educated in unconvential methods, like bellypunching.
To accomplish these objectives, he enforced weight lifting, running and swimming with heavy equipment, carrying people, bath in zero degress water, bellypunching, electric shocks and drug usage as mandatory training methods. The cause of drug program was to build up enough willpower to maintain abilities in case of unwilling exposure. Drugs included alkohol, marijuana, benzodiazepines, cocaine and amphetamine.
The rightwing army fought socialism and drug trafficking in cities, catacombs, jungles and in the hills. They had state-of-the-art weaponry, and great ideological drive, but poor knowledge about the terrain. However, the local population was eager to help us, for a price of course.
la Represión had a good killrate, approx 10 to 1. But the socialists and the drug lords had a virtually unlimited supply of men, and Intussusceptor saw his force decreasing rapidly. He experimented with his alkaloid healing ability to revive his fallen men, and did eventaully succeed by developing the Elixir of Life method.
[edit] After the Red Desolation
After an adventurous time fighting socialism, Intussusceptor returned to his home town. The epidemic - also known as the Red Desolation - was over, but the city was crippled. There were empty streets, abandoned buildings. University was closed and people had no hope for the future. Rumors said that around ten percent of the population fell prey to the virus, but there was no complete statistics.
It is estimated that more than ten percent of the remaining population has acquired borderline personality disorder as a result of the Red Desolation. Those persons perceive the world in black and white terms and are easily offended, and are therefore extremely prone to violence. Arson, murder and rape harassed the city.

After requests from WHO, the government decided to publish the patient journals from the wijnja outbreak. This is a gross violation against the confidentiality, but required for research. The journals contained interesting notes about mental issues – since this strain is highly neurogenic. After witnessing the aftermath of the Red Desolation, he hoped to find notes about socialists getting a taste of their own medicine. As they attacked ambulances in infected areas, he expected to read some nice gory details about how they bleed to death.
However, there was none. The red guards must have been immune to the virus in some way. But there’s no vaccine, so the only possibility is that the socialists have had the illness and survived. Their twisted view of the world can be explained by the neural effects of the virus. Their psychopath leader has calculated that it is worth to let a vast part of his followers die a gruesome death in order to achieve his insane political goals.
He hired an assassin stalker – Sonja Johnson – to kill a suspected red guard and bring his eyes. According to recent studies, it is possible to get the infection date by studying cellular changes in the retina. Sonja is a pro and completed her mission. The eyes were in good shape so we could examine the retinal cells. The changes indicated a possible infection 158-176 days prior to the first confirmed case in the outbreak...

If Crey had free hands to research in a free world of laissez faire capitalism, we would likely already have cures for diseases like cancer, mad cow disease, wijnja virus, depression, aids, allergy, autism, sleeping disorders, multiple sclerosis, avian flu and reumatism. We wouldn't have to worry about the next flu pandemic. You would be able to get a lot more done by reducing the sleep to four hours or perhaps even less. You could expect a lifespan of 150 or even 200 years.
The secret drug Elixir of Life do have side effects, but it can literally resurrect dead people.

An intussusception is a situation in which a part of the intestine has prolapsed into another section of intestine, similar to the way in which the parts of a collapsible telescope slide into one another. The part which prolapses into the other is called the intussusceptum, the part which receives it is called the intussuscipiens, and the cause of the condition is called the intussusceptor. Substances that work as intussusceptors are called intussusceptives.

According to recent studies, the actual strain of the wijnja virus to produce a vast number of glycoproteins during the descruction of neural cells. A certain type do burn in the retina during early stages of infection, leaving a characteristic pattern. Unknown body processes will slowly distort the pattern if the victim survive the disease.
