| Much of William’s old life is accessible through the right means. Since becoming Headbreaker, all you need to do is ask him. | |
Headbreaker was originally created when I ended up on the US servers due to a free trial. He was made in the image of Marv from Sin City. As time went by he started to become my own character. I ended up leaving the US servers to shamefully play Final Fantasy 11. Eventually the call to play returned and I bought a new copy and ended up on the Euro severs, remade HB and played him from the oft as the character he had become back in the US. He has evolved quite a bit since then.
[edit] Affiliations
William once worked under Julian Van-Warbrook, a mafia styled group under the same name. William worked his way to the top and ran the gang for a short while. An accident in Paragon city wiped the gang out. William was the only survivor.
William for a time ran Corpmunitions Limited. The company has now been handed to the board of directors.
William currently runs The Corporation after its founder, John Sebastian, vanished without a trace.
William is friends with many villains as well as heroes, such as Freddy Jones and Jean-Luc.
[edit] Personality
When he came to the isles William was filled with anger and used it to make a name for him self in the isles. He was quick to temper and would often fly into uncontrollable rages. He was loud and brash and would often stir up trouble with heroes in Pocket D. He was also known to hold a grudge, most notably his one against Statesman.
Since then however he has leant to control his anger and let a large part of it go. Has become a lot calmer and more forgiving, channelling what anger he does hold onto into his fighting rather than his every-day life.
Even though he is a villain he is a good man at heart and is very easy to talk to. He listens and will always support, or defend, his friends when necessary.

[edit] Primary Powers
William under went a long and painful enhancement process that increased his body mass and muscle size. The end result was superhuman strength. William can lift weights much larger than him self and is able to deal with large amounts of opponents. He is still growing in strength and is learning new skills almost daily.
[edit] Secondary Powers
A large part of the enhancements was the increase in body mass. The experiment also caused his skin and bones to harden and become able to withstand unbelievable amounts of damage. However, while he took take this punishment his body could still get hurt from superhuman foes. At times he has been known to be completely unstoppable, absorbing much damage while whittling away the enemies before him.
[edit] Additional Powers
[edit] Travel
With the increase in leg muscle William learnt that he was able to clear long distances in a single bound. The more he experimented the
[edit] Health
As rare as it is, William can still be injured; luckily his body’s recovery rate has been increased and can heal at a rapid rate. Minor wounds could heal in under an hour while the more serious could take up to a day.
William can tire quickly but needs little rest to recover his stamina and can quickly get back into a fight.
[edit] Fighting
After months of training with Freddy Jones, William learnt new ways of fighting and improved dramatically. He can fight faster and attack more steadily then he use too.
[edit] Vulnerabilities
In the way on vulnerabilities William’s biggest threat is other super humans. While he knows the limits of his current abilities, William knows there is always some-one stronger. Super humans can actually cause William damage and, if they are lucky, overwhelm him.
In his early days in the Isles William was not very good at judging his opponents and would often take on far too many then he could handle, he would eventually work his way though them but would become very tired and sluggish in the process. He has since worked on this and can better judge a situation
William is also susceptible to Physic attacks as he has not trained his mind or is able to block it out. However, physics that dive too deep many hit his suppressed anger and find them in a terrible place indeed.
Lastly he is very loyal and in doing so would happily jump head long into trouble if a friend was in danger. This puts him, and the person he is trying to save, at risk.
[edit] Equipment
[edit] Gauntlets
Nothing more than a pair of metal gauntlets. These where given to him as a gift by a friend in the Superhuman fighting ring in China. They make his attacks harder and more powerful.
[edit] Business Suit
Shortly after joining The Corporation William received a promotion to become John’s Personal Enforcer. William then decided he needed to look respectable and went out with his new fortune and bought a suit. It is tailor made and he only wears it now for formal occasions.
[edit] Nega Mark I Hazard Armour
During the second Rikti War The Corp became very involved in the war effort. However, after several thrashings by the invading aliens, they quickly decided they needed a form of Power Armour to survive long and drawn out conflicts. It then fell onto Nega-Knight’s, their technical expert, to make some-thing for them to use. The end product was the Nega brand armour. It has several functions that makes battling the Rikti, or other foes, more manageable and survivable.
[edit] Family Photo
The last photo taken of William and his family before he became Headbreaker. It shows him, pre-enhancement, his ex-wife Sarah Daily and his daughter Laura Breaker, then only a young child, together happy and smiling. He held it close to him after the Rikti war as he believed both his daughter and her mother had died in the bombardments. Since he found his daughter alive he has framed the photo and left it by his bedside.
[edit] Electronic Equipment
Like all good businessmen, he has a cell phone and a PDA to keep himself mobile and up to date with what is happening.
[edit] Character History
[edit] Childhood, Teenage Years and University
William Alexander Breaker was born in London on December 19th 1967 to an American father and an English mother. For the first year of his life he lived in London, growing like children do. After a while his father managed to convince his mother that moving to America would probably be for the best and that opportunity’s came easier there. Reluctantly she agreed and they became their journey to America. William’s life went by without any great changes; he did his studies at school, made and lost friends, developed crushes that bloomed into short teenage romances. At fifteen he joined a band. He had been learning the guitar for the better part of five years however he soon switching to the bass guitar due to the bands demands and eventually learnt to love it. All through out his childhood and teenage years he had a friend who would stick with him thick and thin, Thomas Creedy. Both were thick as thieves, there was little they ended up doing together. They had their share of fights, squabbles over girls and going on allsorts of troublesome adventures, every-thing that two friends should.
Eventually William graduated school with good grades and went on to study at university. Thomas however did not and slowly disappear from William’s life and off of the face of the earth.
William always had a good head for technology and went on to study it. It was at University his love of the bass guitar earnt him a place in another band known as Capes of the Hero, with many of their songs dedicated to local metas. It was also during University that William got a night job as a bartender in the union bar. He learnt quickly and the Union sent him on a week’s bartending course. Upon succeeding William became popular down the bar and very well known on campus. It was during one of his shifts that he first came across Sarah Daily, his future wife. The two got along and before long a relationship developed. Eventually as the years passed they both graduated, William getting average scores and Sarah getting top marks. Will left the band and bartending life style behind.
[edit] The 1990’s
In 1991 both Sarah and William tied the knot. William was now working in an office building, crunching numbers and filling out forms while Sarah worked for a popular Paragon Newspaper, reporting on the many wonderful heroes that sailed about, saving the day and fighting crime. In 1993 Sarah fell pregnant and eventually on the 20th of May 1994 they gave birth to a daughter, Laura. Life was good although William’s job bored him greatly. Almost daily heroes would fly past his window making him wish his life was more exciting.
One night a knock at William’s door delivered him a surprise. Standing there was Thomas. When William offered him to come inside he refused and asked William to meet him else where. They met up for a coffee and Thomas quickly explained his life since they parted ways. While William went off to University Thomas went to find a job, however with low grades and little to no qualifications he could not find any-thing decent. He began to fall in with a rough crowd and eventually was signed by Julian Van-Warbrook of the family by the same name. Thomas was a low-time thug for Julian, but the pay was good. A few days ago he had been sent to cap a witness who could testify the Van-Warbrook’s involvement in a recent robbery. Thomas had messed the job up badly and if he did not kill the man in question by tomorrow night he would have to flee Paragon or be killed. After much begging (and shameful crying on Thomas’ part) William agreed although made Thomas promise this would be the only thing he would ever do for him, after this their friendship was over and he never wanted to see him near his family again.
[edit] The first kill
The job was simple, break in, kill the man, call in the ‘cleaners’ to deal with the mess before disappearing into the night Scott-free. Thomas claimed Julian always had an alibi for his men with each mission so there could be no connection.
The break in went smoothly but as they looked about, the man could not be found. The two began to argue and Thomas suddenly blurted out that he had never killed before and was too scared to kill the man. Before they had a chance to escape the door unlocked the target walked right into the room. Thomas froze on the spot, unable to react in the slightest. The target stood stunned as two shadows stood before him in his dark apartment, on of which was holding a gun. He went to shout for help but before he could even react William had pulled the gun from Thomas’ hands and fired once, hitting him square in the forehead. When the commotion ended William looked at his friend who remained to stand, still too afraid to move. William went over to the body and turned on a nearby light to see who the target was. To his horror it was the CEO of the company he worked for. When asked what the real reason was for killing this man, Thomas could only mutter,
“He knew too much and Julian was afraid he was gonna sing?”
The two escaped and parted ways, not of course before William punched Thomas as hard as he could, leaving the man unconscious in an alley way. The man’s body was found and after an investigation it was revealed that he had strong ties to group in Paragon who had been behind a spat of robberies. However the information had been destroyed during the night and only scraps of information remained, not enough to find out which gang he worked for. The embarrassing situation caused the company to go bankrupt and William was forced out of a job.
Weeks rolled off the calendar and the unfortunate circumstances in which he had been fired made it difficult to secure another job.
It wasn’t before long that William was eventually approached by Julian Van-Warbrook. He spoke about the murder of William’s former employee and told of Thomas’ honesty about freezing on the spot and that it was William who eventually did the deed. It wasn’t before long that Julian offered him employment. William refused but as the days went by and the jobs did not come, he reluctantly agreed.
[edit] The Criminal Path
William ran a few errands for Julian and quickly gained respect. As the months went by he was given responsibilities for other members and soon he was respected by many of the gang members. William tried his best to hide the criminal activities from Sarah and he did so well, but it broke his heart he had to lie to her and that every-thing he provided was done so with blood money. It was during this time that William helped Thomas out, he helped him get over his fear and suddenly Thomas too rose the ranks in the Van-Warbrook family.
One night however rumours began to arise that some-one was planning on killing Julian and replacing him as don of the group. Julian believed it too be William as he was the most respected next to him. Instead of having him killed he aimed at his heart and helped his wife find out what he had been up too. The two rowed endlessly and William, too heartbroken to continue, promised his wife he would not continue. Many weeks passed and William spent some time with his family, his wife was making enough at the Newspaper after a promotion that there was no major rush for him to find a job. However, once again, there was a knock at the door and once again he found Thomas standing there.
[edit] Leader Of The Van-Warbrook Family
Lucian had been murdered in his sleep. The rest of the gang was falling apart and much of the blame now fell onto Thomas as it was revealed that he was the one who ended Julian’s life. He was no leader and could not keep order, fearing for his life he begged William back.
Some-thing inside William missed the freedom that the gang offered him, but his promise to Sarah made him say no. After several days of thought he realised as don he could control the gang in such a way that he would be able to hide his choice from Sarah better. He agreed and became Don of the Van-Warbrook’s. Almost a year passed and William had done well in running the Family. They had performed many successful robberies, battles and criminal activities. The gang was strong and nothing looked as if it could topple them. Sarah was once again was oblivious to William’s activities. He was better at hiding it this time.
Eventually the gang decided to press their luck with a Crey warehouse; it was to be their biggest heist to date and would lead on to an even bigger job, robbing the Independence Port bank! The night of the robbery went smoothly until,
He showed up and changed every-thing.
[edit] The Headbreaker Cometh

The lookout came bursting into the warehouse. Statesman had been sighted heading their way. They shut up shop and waited till the Father of Heroes passed over heard. However fate had other plans.
One of the more careless gang members caused a crate to tip. The following sound alerted Statesman and he burst into the warehouse. A gunfight ensured, not attempting to stop the hero, more to distract him while they tried to escape. A stray shot caused Statesman to roll his shoulder backwards, and in this single motion another bullet ricochet off of his body and into a gas canister. The whole building exploded in a ball of fire. William had been flung out the back door and upon quick realisation, he was the only survivor.
Escaping the scene William fled home, planning on putting the criminal world behind him, but word travelled quickly and Sarah had taken Laura and moved away leaving William a note that she had left him and the last photograph they had taken together.
William became consumed with anger. Every-thing had built up to this moment; his mind could not take it and broke. Suddenly Statesman became the vessel for his anger, he would do any-thing to destroy the man who destroyed him, be blamed him for every-thing, even though in his heart he knew he was to blame.
Acting on anger alone William hunter down a Crey scientist known as Joshua Miles who’s work into metas had made him both celebrated and criticised. He had found a way to make a normal person superhuman. William kidnapped Joshua with the intent of forcing him to change him, but to William’s surprise Joshua agreed to the work.
One year later William was now beyond human, he had become the Headbreaker.
[edit] The First Rikti War
The first recognised sighting of Headbreaker was during the first Rikti war on May 23rd, 2002, two days after his daughters 8th birthday. He had been seen in random encounters with the Rikti fighters in Paragon City and each sighting was usually near where Statesman was. William desperately wanted to get close to the Hero and try to kill him.
After a month of non-stop fighting he realised the war had made it impossible to get close. As the war continued William began to see how powerful his enemy was. He watched as Statesman brought down the mothership almost single headedly. He then realised he was no-where near strong enough...at least, not yet he was.
[edit] The Aftermath of the first war
Headbreaker fled Paragon and America all together. He spent the next few years training his new body in Europe, Russia and Asia, going across the land witnessing the devastation left by the Rikti war. He learnt many things about not only himself but he began to learn his own limitations and how to cover them. He trained in the mountains and in the forests slowly becoming more powerful.

He eventually settled in China were he came across a man known as The Imperial Dragon who offered William a chance to fight others like him to join his Superhuman Fighting Ring. Williams’s powers showed great promise and before long he was one of the best fighters. William eventually left the ring after an expedition fight ended badly, causing the death of a good friend.
Leaving China William decided to return to the UK and visited his parent’s graves. They had left America to travel the world shortly before the first Rikti War, they had got as far as London before they where caught in a bomb blast.
[edit] The Isles
William was to headed back to Paragon and hide away. He stayed locked up in a hotel room for many days just watching the news and planning what he was going to do.
Eventually came out of hiding and went after Statesman. The father of heroes was giving a talk on the Clean up efforts after the Rikti War and giving his famous call to Heroes. William moved through the crowd, he was ready to leap at a moments notice at the stage and attack the father of heroes. As he got close a hand pressed against his chest
“You do not want to do that friend...” The man identified himself as John Sebastian, a business man who operated out of the Rogue Isles. After much debate William followed John to a nearby alleyway and the two talked.
John knew what William was going to do and told him how powerful Statesman really was, how more training and friends would be the way to beat him. John told William of a group of Isles in which he would be able to train, grow stronger, make allies and then eventually attack the boy-blue. John left, leaving William with the weight of his words.
William went back into the crowd, he watched the father of heroes continue to talk before eventually walking away.
He found his way eventually to the Isles using what remained of his contacts in Paragon.
He arrived in Mercy and immediately went to work. Within a few weeks he had built up a small reputation and had made some enemies. It wasn’t until he finally landed in Port Oaks that he was approached by a man known as Domineering Presence who spoke of his employer’s interest in William. He was a member of a group known as The Corporation and they had been closely watching his progression. William met their leader for an interview and to his surprise it was the man who stopped him in Paragon, John Sebastian.
Much like his time with the Van-Warbrook Family, William rose ranks quickly and within a few weeks he was the bodyguard and personal enforcer of John himself. Over this time he had become good friends with John, saving each others lives on several occasions and fighting the fight against those who would stop them.
The Corp had given William purpose again. Back in Paragon he was about to throw away his life, here he had a reason to live. Just as things where getting good for William; fate played another hand.
[edit] The Second Rikti War
The Rikti bombs fell and The Corporation was dragged into the front line. It was here that William gained the most respect; he fought hard and refused to be defeated. When a member of the Corp would fall he would fight tooth and nail to get them out and he refused to leave any-one behind. John began to think of William as his brother, and William returned the bonds of family. Then news came from Paragon, both his ex-wife and daughter had died in the Rikti bombings.
This was the straw that broke the camels back and sent William into a rage that could not be stopped. For the next few months William was a loaded pistol, he had put heroes in the hospital, strained his friendships as they tried to help him and even killed Callum Riches, a traitor The Corp had been hunting for months.
He was loosing the fight within himself and becoming the monster he always feared he would become.
[edit] The Aftermath of the second war
The second war had nearly destroyed William, but his friend held tight and would not let him slip. Even heroes he knew began to help and slowly his anger began to subside, although it would not vanish.
It was shortly after the Rikti war that Dom vanished and William became the right hand man of The Corporation and CEO of a new front Corpmunitions Limited.

Many months after the main brunt of the war had ended William was called out by an old Rival from the Chinese Ring. A man known as Gabriel Winters had captured William’s daughter shortly before the bombings, but he had also undergone the same enhancements as William and murdered Joshua Miles.
William used this new threat to finally change himself. He trained furiously with Freddy Jones, found friendship with such people as Nymphet, Loup Garou, Big Game and most of The Corporation. learning that he would never be able to beat Statesman as he was, William finally accepted that every-thing that had happened to him in the past was very much his own fault and he had been blame shifting. He finally looked in the mirror and saw what he had become, he was far from human in appearance, but at least he could save his soul. Eventually he let the past be past and finally let go of his hate.
The Corporation eventually worked together to save William’s daughter from Gabriel and help them beat him. The whole ordeal had made William a much more disciplined person, his strength was being put to good use in the Rikti War Zone and it helped him beat Gabriel with little difficulty. Unfortuantly Gabriel, foreseeing his own defeat, had, in secret, aided the Marcone Family in finding ways to take Port Recluse back from The Corporation, now their main area of business.
[edit] The New Corporation
William had finally saved Laura and the two caught up on years of lost time. She was suffering nightmares and bouts of hysteria and the Isles were not helping.
Several retaliatory strikes by the Marcone’s was putting the Corp in a bad place causing John Sebastian to call The Corp together and tell them to go into hiding while he planned their next move. He would take back Port Recluse and eventually bring the Corp out from under Arachnos’ thumb. He bid good bye to his brother and friends and promised to see them again in a few weeks where they would finally smash the Marcone’s once and for all.
William used this time to return to England. He left his daughter with a surviving relative, not wanting her to live in the harsh Isles and returned at haste. Upon arriving back in Port Recluse William was horrified to find it once again fully under Marcone control. He returned to the base and activated the return signal on all communicators. Slowly, one by one, they began to return. Even Dom reappeared. However, after many days, John did not return. The Corp waited and when it was clear John was missing, William took up the reigns of The Corporation and begun his war once again.
[edit] Recluse
While John was in charge Recluse was very tolerant of the Corporation, knowing he could control them with the promise of money, some-thing John loved. However, since William took charge The Corp has not been so easy to buy off. The war on the Marcone’s is proving bad for business and Recluse’s patience is growing thin. Rumours in the wind say that soon he will wage his own war against the Corporation and bring them back under his heel.
