Dire Lament is made up of thousands of minds and their memories , however they are all mixed together, many of the weaker one have become very fragmented and the whole is a whirling mass of confusion.
Lucy ,as the dominate entity is the main personality , however there is little left of her human persona , and as the multitude of memories flows across her mind she displays a confusion of personality traits .
As Lucy has to concentrate to blot out all the other voices and memories in her mind, as a result when talking to people she often appears slow , deliberate, confused and unsure , and will make oddly simple statements .
Lucy’s grip on reality is weak , and this makes her grasp any fact she comes across very tightly , she will often revisit theses facts using them as anchors in her struggle to focus beyond the confusion in her mind .
There is never any strong emotion displayed , except when she remembers her death and the pain of it . She has no passions , even when hunting , only a consent feeling of lose and despair .

To be released from the imprisonment that confines her , and the other victims , to do this she must kill the Spells casters and so she is constantly hunting for them , she is not a hero , as she is not seeking to help other , she is merely removing obstacles in her path, the fact that these are villains is of no matter to her , her hunting brings her in to contact with many villians not part of her quest , any that get in her way she will fight . She is not seeking revenge , only to escape the spell that traps her , and the others. She does not even hate the ones she kills , but is driven by the need to escape . As she has encountered various magical beings in her quest for freedom she has uncovered more knowledge about how to use magic , and has found hints that she may be able to take the blood she neeeds from the spells caster if she can make them submitt ...so now she is also seeking greater magical knowledge and skills

Spines .. this power is the ability to physically manifest the desire of the Confined ones , this comes over as a mass of jagged points , blades barbs and spikes erupting from Lucy’s body , each is the attack of one of the Imprisoned , the toxic effect is the magically focused pain each Confined one feels .

Dark armor ..As Lucy exists at the boundary of this worlds and the netherworld she is able to cover her self in netherworld energies and fields , these provide protection and she can use them to harm others.

Lucy displays no skills and does not interact with the real world much , though she sings it is with a very poor skill,the songs are either sad and mornfull tunes she or one of her co-captives has encountered in life , or very poorly crafted doggrel verse .... Have encountered magic using villians Lucy is now trying to learn magic , as sh has a power supply , to aid in her quest

Lucy is dead , what others interact with is a magical energy field ,and the magical body she inhabits , this can be dispersed and disrupted , but given time Lucy can re-gather the energies and she will reform her physical body .As the form is magic it has no need to breath , eat drink . Lucys mind does like to rest .a sort of sleep , but this is for about 3 hours a day , and she can go about a week with out resting without harm ... The magical body conforms to the laws of physics , and tears and rips when damaged , but o blood leaks out.

Dire Lament is a Manifest Haunt, a ghost creature created by magical energies , the physical form is magical energy turned to matter , shaped and maintained by magic . Despite its looks and despite how it reacts in the real world it is not flesh. It is solid and real ,and it reacts as a real normal mass does under the laws of science . The haunt is not of a single person , but thousands of minds, all of whom have been sacrificed to empower a spell . Its physical shape is that of Lucy , the dominate mind and controller of the magic. The blood smears all over the body and clothing is real blood taken from those Lucy has killed to break their power over the Spell that bind Lucy and the other victims , the blood never dries , and never comes off due to the effects of the magic.

Lucy is astride the boundary between this world and the netherworld
Lucy’s thoughts and those of the other victims are unreadable due to the chaotic nature of the intermeshed and fragmented state of the minds and memories
Being dead and having magical form Lucy does not have the normal human senses , she “sees” thing under “darklight” , this is does not have colors , she has to remember things like the sky is blue . She “smells” the energy field a person has and so smells the differences between people .(( this is not a scan and does not give any data , and normal disguise can fool it ))

Dire Laments history starts seconds after Lucy’s death ,Lucy does not know the full details of what happened , what she does know is solely from her own perspective , and as , at the time , she was having her still beating heart cut out by a spell casting villain it is not that coherent . What Lucy knows is the pain and terror of her death , while at the same time a strange infusion of , what she later learned was, magical healing energy , and the explosion of voices and memories in her mind. For a few seconds the magical healing energy kept her mind alive in this world, even though her heart had been torn out , while at the same time the spellcaster’s magic pushed her into a magical create void protruding from this realm into the netherworld. She was held at the boundary between the two realms. In that fragment of time, from within the void, came the minds of other victims , merging with Lucy’s mind , thousands of voices and memories , and from that maelstrom seven strong mind screamed into her consciousness a collection strange words , these seven overpowered the terrified mind of Lucy and force her to speak the accursed words.

Magical power had infused Lucy’s mind , and transformed her into a Manifest Haunt .
Driven by the eternal pain of imprisonment Lucy seeks out those that have work the spell that confines her , and will do so until she has claimed the blood of the last entity that is linked to the magic .
[edit] Background The Spell
Magic is a strange beast , there are those who are magical by nature , other can channel the energies of magic , other can only work magic by means of spells . Here we are dealing with a spell and those who make use of it . This spell is ancient , possible one from the Lore of Tielekku’s , long has it been known if only in name and shape , for though known it is not lightly cast . For this is a spell of great power and great cost . What this spell does is create a generator for producing a store of magical energy , and at the same time setting up a reservoir of nether energy for the spell's caster to tap .
Boundaries are always magical places and the one between this world and the netherworld is a very powerful boundary , this spell opens a void between the two worlds , into the void the spells casters place life energy from sacrificed victims from this world .
The life energy are held forever in the void , and the void reacts with the netherworld to produce a constant supply of raw magical energy that the spells casters can tap . The further beauty of the spell is that others can be taught to cast a lesser version of the spell to add more life energy, by means of human of sacrifice, making even power available to the original casters.
Long ago ten powerful wizards cast this spell , and each then set up a cabal of followers to keep the spell fuelled .
Today the supply of magic by the spell has kept each of the wizard alive and powerful.
Lucy was a victim of one of these wizard's cabals , how ever she was nearly saved , a group of Heroes tried to rescue her from the sacrifice , the magical healing energy she felt even as her heart was cut out came from one of the heroes , but fate was not kind the cabal was to strong and defeated the heroes , and Lucy died .
The seven voices that commanded her during the half a second the healing magic held her , belonged to former cabal members , victims of there own side , they had fell from favour and been used as fuel ...but they held the magical knowledge of how to free themselves and all the other victims from the void .. the taught Lucy how to mould magic and become a Haunt .
The seven imparted to Lucy how to break the spell ,this involes killing the ten wizards and claiming their blood , for it was with a binding drop of their own blood the wizards enacted the original spell .. Lucy has now found hints that the seven lied to her , and that she does not have to kill the wizards , but get them to give here some of their blood and submit to a ritual that will disconect them from the spell , the seven will not answer Lucy about how to do this , so she is now also seeking maigical skills and spells ...

so far Lucy has found and slain two of the casters , as she does her own powers grow.
