Rachel Grey-Hunter is a young student who migrated to Paragon City to study for a degree in Advanced Biology. On one fateful day in the school grounds of her Founders Falls university campus, a steel visor fell from the sky and struck her hard on the forehead, triggering her latent mutant abilities to store the powers of other mutant in her memory. The power is unreliable but from the limited selection learnt so far, she can recall and perform special skills such as telekinesis, telepathy, molecular pyrokinesis, healing, empathic enhancement, tissue regeneration, density boxing and martial arts. [edit] Personality

Rachel's most prominent personality trait is her selflessness. She loves other people more than herself and always goes out of her way to please those who love her back. She is generally kind enough to even help a foe out of trouble.

[edit] Vulnerability

Rachel's chief vulnerability are her loved ones, family and fellow citizens. It also has to be noted that if knocked unconscious, Rachel can be overcome. Over the past few years of vigilantism, Rachel has honed her skills to a fine art, but it still can take her several minutes to totally recall her memory of an ability, during this time, Rachel is entirely vulnerable to interruption.

[edit] Motivation

While the Priest is motivated to fight evil by his strong Christian ideals, his wife Damsel, who does enjoy his company and the excitement of adventure, is motivated in her solo vigilantism, and in helping people, by her loyalty, faith and allegiance to the Law. She possesses a sense of duty to fulfill a set of obligations as a mutant and metahuman citizen. Her social heroics is motivated by a sense of respect in treating others as they should be treated. Her political agenda and involvement with Government contacts is driven by the selfless will to put the welfare of her nation and her people before her own. She displays integrity to do what's right, both morally and legally. With great honour, she shows courage patrolling the city, or in the battlefield, to face fear, danger, or adversity, both physical and mental. Through her strong motivations, Rachel Grey-Hunter aims to achieve true herodom, for the sake of her fellow citizens.

[edit] Powers

Rachel was born with a mutation which morphs her genetic coding to mimic the abilities of other mutants. She once learnt shape-shifting from The Priest but like so many other acquired skills, Rachel has long forgotten how to do it.

  • Density Control: Rachel learnt this ability from Bulletshield, who saved her from falling to her death. She can increase her density to achieve super strength and near invulnerability. She can also decrease her density to achieve invisibility, increased footspeed and heightened leap. Her favourite technique is phaseshifting through solid material.
  • Molecular Pyrokinesis: Is one of two abilities Pious has taught Rachel so far. Currently, she knows how to throw fire at different intensities and volume, often adding a pinch of creativity.
  • Telepathy: The other ability Rachel learnt from Pious. She is currently able to communicate telepathically and use telekinesis, clairsentience, clairvoyance or precognition at a basic level.
  • Empathy: Rachel recently learnt to enhance the natural regenerative process of the human body and increase adrenaline circulation for mind clarity and improved fortitude. She picked up this ability watching Mother's Love.
  • Regeneration: The ability to reconstruct damaged tissue has given Rachel greater resilience to pain and status effects by attuning the inner chi energy, as taught by Meriam Kesser, the second Masked Angel.
  • Martial Arts: During their training, the Masked Angel also showed Rachel several martial arts skills including Karate.
  • Photographic Memory: Is Rachel's innate ability. When she was 18, she began to memorise the public identities of all registered heroes and known villains in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles, including the definitions of their abilities.

[edit] Limitations

During training, Rachel realised she had forgotten an ability she learnt watching the Battling Britanic; energy-powered flight. This led her to believe there is only so much her photographic memory can handle.

[edit] Equipment

The Priest keeps his weapons hidden inside a holy chamber, deep underneath Moth Cathedral near the cemetery. There lies the Sword of Leviticus and the Double-Axes of Babylon. There is also a weapons rack for the XM8 assault rifles, often manned by Rachel or Altair Stevens. Shelves after shelves house Codename's array of silver bullets, grenades and daggers. Littered around the chamber are several more tools for exorcisms such as old Bibles, Crosses, amulets and kegs of Holy Water.

[edit] XM8 Rifle

The XM8 is a lightweight assault rifle system developed by the United States Army in 2005, ironically, after the first Rikti invasion. It holds 5.56 × 45 mm NATO cartridges, fires by gas-operated action-systems and rotating bolts. It can fire up to 800 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 980 m/s. Its effective range is between 0 and 800 meters, in sniper-mode, and feeds with a 30 round detachable box magazine or a 100-round C-Mag drum magazine. It has built in reflex sight with 1x magnification, 4× for DMR variant. Four weapon variants; a compact personal defense weapon with a 9.5 inch barrel, a carbine with a 12.5 inch barrel, and sniper and automatic rifle variants with 20 inch barrels. In addition, accessories such as optical sights, a grenade launcher, M10 gasoline flamethrower and a bipod are integrated using a new system which allows for precision attachment. Rachel also equips a liquid-nitrogen freeze ray pistol to hold the enemy in place, ready for arrest. Cloaked inventory consists of disintegrating caltrops, web grenades, highly explosive trip mines, the VX19 timed explosives, anti-gravity targeting drones, stealth armour, body armour, LRM missiles and a collapsible turret.

[edit] Brief History

Rachel was born in April 1985 to Adam and Beverley Grey in the city of Lagos, Nigeria. She moved to New York in 1997 when she was 12, where she lived next door to Pious for a year. In the year 2003, at the age of 18, her father died of natural causes. She later moved to Paragon City to study for a degree in Advanced Biology. She took a keen interest in heroes and evolved humans and often visited Pocket D to learn about them.

[edit] Origins

On the 16th of November 2007, an epic battle between the Priest and arch-nemesis, Dark Pistol brought a momentary eclipse over Paragon City. The hero's mask fell from the skies and struck Rachel in the head, instantly rendering her unconscious. She suffered a week-long coma but was healed to full recovery by the Priest. She woke to find her mutations in full effect and later that month, she joined the Priest for training and the two morphogenetic power mimics entered into a vigilante duo, beginning Rachel's heroing career.

[edit] The Priest

Two years ago, a nineteen-year old Rachel Hunter was only worried about her exams and keeping up with the rest of her Founders Falls cheerleading squad. One faithful day an iron visor with distinctive crucifix eye-slits landed on her head and sent her into what should have been a long term coma. The owner of the visor came to collect it and out of responsibility, he healed her. When she regained consciousness, she knew she had encountered the mysterious man called the Priest.

Since then Rachel's photographic memory became something more. She learnt to capture and mimic the extraordinary abilities of other mutants. She found the Priest and coerced him into training her. During their time together, Rachel learnt the secret name of the man behind the visor, Pious Hunter. He was her childhood friend, with some romantic interest. One day, Rachel displayed an ability she didn't know she had copied. She somehow transported herself and the Priest to another world, known to the inhabitants as the Nothern Universe. Stranded there, they aged and matured together. They fell in love and married. After two years, Rachel became with child. It was then that the Priest encountered a mutant menace with the ability to teleport through space and time. Overpowering him and absorbing his powers, the Priest now had a way back home. However, when they returned, only a month had passed.

Early 2008, the Priest stumbled upon an old enemy, one Alicia Barzini know also as the Dark Pistol. A few weeks later he went missing on an otherworldly mission with the Militia. He was reported dead soon after. Six months passed and Rachel did not give up hope that her husband still lived. She has sworn vengeance upon Alicia Barzini and has allied herself with two other women whose lives were also destroyed by the Dark Pistol - Sabrina San who lost her husband and an infant daughter and Altair Stevens who worked closely with the Priest before she too was sacrificed by the Circle of Thorns, to revive the Dark Pistol. The Priest had saved them both from death two years ago, just before Rachel discovered her mutant powers. Ever since, the trio worked tirelessly to find the missing hero.
