[edit] Friends & Allies

  • StreetLight - Mother. She thinks he's an idiot.
  • DJ Stacker - Sister. She thinks he's an idiot too.
  • Sting Star - Female clone of Richie, created in a magic accident. Surprisingly, she also thinks Richie's an idiot.
  • Trick - Current girlfriend.
  • Psysan - Sting Star's partner. Probably thinks Richie's an idiot too.
  • Molly.EXE - Friend and sometime ally. She thinks Richie's just a few sandwiches short of a picnic. Has owned him at DDR and OutRun2 several times.
  • 777 - Richie's neighbour and RAPIER Operative.
  • Crash Leadfoot - Sort-of friend and Stiletto Director. Originally tried to get in bed with him before she finally cleaned up her act.
  • As of 13/07/2008, Richie is currently a member of the Unity Vigil after the events surrounding his discovery that Sunita Maybourne was still alive as well as his past mistakes, forced him to rethink his future. Again.

[edit] Adversaries

  • Sunita Maybourne - Blames Richie for her death after she was stabbed by his doppelganger, and currently seeks to wipe out the Stacker family entirely.

May or may not have made an enemy out of Baron Eternity after the two of them repeatedly insulted each other in Pocket D one night.

[edit] Personality

He can vary between quiet and generally chatty depending on who he's talking to. Often somewhat agressive to anyone who annoys him. Get him into a battle, though, and he is a maniac, often seen screaming all sorts of abuse at his foes. In the case of Rikti attacks - which he ofter refers to as 'parties' ("The real parties are where the Rikti dance.") - he can often be found taunting fallen invaders in a somewhat psychotic manner (Seriously, you can't help but wonder what goes through the mind of a sword-wielding nutcase that commands his foes to "Squirm!" and "Scream!").

[edit] Motivation

He chose to take a different path in life after the pursuit of a former friend became a path paved in the bodies of the innocent.

[edit] Powers

[edit] Dual Blades

After killing his friend, Stacker set about raiding his apartment for his money. As well as finding that money, he stumbled across two swords, a ninja blade and a rapier. Stacker took the swords and over time, developed his own fighting style using them. He named the swords Gold and Silver, largely because of the colour of each blade. That, and he couldn't name an inanimate object to save his life.

[edit] Dark Armor

After a brutal fight in Durham City, England, Stacker refused any help to get home, opting to stagger wherever instead. That "wherever" ended up being right outside the city's cathedral, where he stumbled across a bag full of decrepit-looking books. It was soon discovered that within the tomes were several spells, a few of which Stacker makes us of to this day to defend himself better.

[edit] Additional Powers

[edit] Teleportation

Stacker has learned a couple of spells allowing for teleportation. One spell can only allow him to teleport those he wishes to kill. He often uses this spell to his advantage when faced with dangerous odds. The second spell allows Stacker to teleport himself, but he hasn't quite got the jist of this yet. Rumour has it that he teleported from the plinth of the Galaxy Girl statue, aiming for the Freedom Corps building, only to rematerialise right under her skirt. Several feet above ground.

[edit] Fitness

Richie's street-fighting history, combined with the fact he is part-alien, has contributed to his good health, being able to recover from blows better then others, run slightly faster and fight for longer without wearing himself out.

[edit] Abilities

Richie is telepathic, but being someone who valued his own humanity long before learning he was part-Barien, he tries supress his abilities at all times. However, some situations have called for him to speak to someone telepathically, but that's as far as he intends to go with them, as much as he hates to.

A spell Richie knows grants him access to "Thin Air", an empty universe bereft of celestial bodies. Richie uses this to store anything he feels he may need, including his swords. Whenever he needs something from there, he can pull it out of there with the greatest of ease.

[edit] Vulnerabilities

He can be a bit of an idiot at times, both in and out of battle, and sometimes fails to realise when running may be the better option. Also, if distracted badly enough, he will lose control of his spells, ending them prematurely.

[edit] Equipment

"I said stop running, moron!"

[edit] Gold & Silver

The ninja blade and rapier he 'aquired' from his former friend after killing him. Surprisingly more durable than one would think.

[edit] Talsorian blades *currently not in use*

Richie's borderline psychotic love for battling the Rikti has earned him a set of Talsorian blades from Vanguard. He opted for deep red blades. They currently sit in storage.

[edit] Spellbooks *destroyed by Richie*

Richie stumbled across serveral tomes, unceremoniously left outside Durham Cathedral in a carrier bag. Within them were several protective spells along with some spells to ease travel, among other things.

Richie destroyed the books to prevent them from ever falling into the wrong hands again, after retrieving them from The Couple.

[edit] Terrilyn's bike

Upon Terrilyn's death, she passed her electric motorbike to Richie. He has yet to use it, though.

[edit] Revolver

After aquiring a license to carry a firearm, Richie reluctanly set about finding a gun at the suggestion of 777. Eventually, he opted for a revolver. "With guns, you just point, shoot, kill. I get more satisfaction from my swords when I bust someone, so, If I really need a gun, a revolver with the insane kick it gives on firing is going to offer me the most satisfaction, if at all."

Now he just needs to remember the damn ammo.

[edit] Baseball bat

Richie stole a baseball bat from a Hellion and currently stores it in Thin Air, ready to pull out at any moment and knock his enemies flying. It's fun, and it comes in handy a lot of times.

[edit] Sledgehammer

Another weapon Richie stores in Thin Air. Stolen from an Outcast, he finds it a satisfying tool against Rikti Drones.

[edit] Character History

[edit] In the beginning

Richie Stacker was nobody special, just the son of a binman and a shop assistant in the city of Durham, England. Stacker learned to fight during his secondary school days, when all the years he suffered in Primary school at the hands of bullies led him to finally flip one day, landing several in hospital and more with lesser injuries.

After finally getting his GCSEs out of the way and leaving school Richie found himself conpletely without direction. He'd passed all subjects, but just barely, and he felt too burned out from Secondary school to continue into any further education. One night, Richie decided to go out for a walk to clear his head, only to find himself under attack from thugs from all sides. Richie reacted by fighting back, dodging each attack and dealing harsher blows. After the ordeal was over, Richie remained the last man standing. As he stumbled away from the scene, another man approached him with an intersting offer. An offer that introduced him to organised - yet illegal - fights.

Richie loved it, but his parents begged to differ, giving him the order of the boot after he refused to back away from it all.

[edit] Birth of the Crazy Devil

Several months later, Richie was still fighting. However, in spite of his streak of easy victories in the past, one match had left him severely battered by the time he'd knocked his opponent out. Said opponent's blows couldn't be blocked easily, while Stacker's attacked were deflected without trouble. It was only through sheer determination and one hell of a lucky opening that Richie managed to bring him down.

The fight had left him a mess, barely capable of standing on his own two feet, yet all offers to help him home were met with refusal. Staggering away from the fight, he finally tripped and fell over outside the city's cathedral, losing conciousness soon after. When he finally came to the next morning, he had found that a carrier bag full of decrepit-looking books lay near him. Stacker took the books home, thinking he could sell them. However, when he peeked inside the books, he discovered that the contents were in fact incantations for several spells. Though he couldn't understand the strange language they were written in, somebody had written notes down the sides of several of the pages, explaining the incantations in a language he could understand, as well as their purpose.

The next fight he competed in several days later was just like any other, only this time Richie had a few tricks up his sleeve. His opponent had decided to attempt the first strike, but as he approached him, Stacker held his arms out and closed his eyes. Within seconds he became surrrounded by a strange black smoke, just before his opponent could land the blow. It seemed that he had connected, but suddenly he stumbled to the ground, allowing Stacker to deal a swift kick to his face, knocking him out and ending the match in his favour in less than a couple of minutes.

From that day on, Stacker continued to use the same tricks in his fights. Over time, he had earned himself the moniker of "Crazy Devil" as a result of those spells.

[edit] Coming to America

After several years of success, his street fighting career came to an end when a friend of his - Matt Dennison, who had been arranging his fights for some time - got into a dispute over how the earnings from each fight were divided, a dispute that led Dennison to take Stacker's stash of money and flee to the US. Richie clicked as soon as he discovered his money was missing and promptly jumped onto the next plane to Paragon to pursue him. Stacker saw this coming, and had hidden a chunk of his money elsewhere for just such an event.

Upon arriving in Paragon, his first order of business - after finding a hotel and something decent to eat, but that should go without saying - was finding out where in the city Dennison was hiding. Not an easy task, and one that would affect him for the worse.

[edit] Momo Serizawa

While he hunted Dennison down, initially knocking any thug remotely connected with him in any obscure way and interrogating them, Stacker also set aside some time to read more into his spellbooks. Due to the strange language in which the tomes were written, he had to visit the M.A.G.I. offices often in the hopes of getting the books translated. While he didn't have much luck there, he did find luck in other areas. One day, on his way out, he met Momo Serizawa, the daughter of a musician who'd came to Paragon herself to study for a future at M.A.G.I.

Over the next few days, they bumped into each other, chatted then went their separate ways until Stacker finally asked her out.

She accepted, and the first date went well. Obscenely well, in fact. Much to the surprise of Richie. However, Richie's happiness would not last long...

One night, one the way to meet up with Momo at the cinema, Richie was attacked by the Hellions. Opting to fight them off instead of running, he took them out within the best part of fifteen minutes, earning a few bruises and an black eye in the process. As soon as he was done, he continued on his way to the cinema, which was by then a mess of sirens, strobes and camera flashes. As he rushed to the scene, Richie found out the news from one of the photographers there: Momo Serizawa was shot in the chest by an unknown assailant several minutes before he arrived. Had he not fought the Hellions that attacked him, he could have been there to prevent the shooting, something that he didn't take too well...

[edit] "Out of my way!"

Shortly after Serizawa's death, Stacker became violent in his efforts to hunt down Dennison when he learned that he had masterminded her murder as a message to Richie that he should give up. However, this had the opposite effect that he had hoped for and his gamble hadn't paid off. Richie tracked Dennison down to the First National Bank of Paragon in Atlas, which Dennison and a gang of Hellions had decided to rob. Several innocent lives were lost that day, in spite of Richies efforts.

Initially, Richie had caught the Hellions as they left the bank, knocking several of them into the corners of several walls and severely injuring them. Once he caught sight of Dennison, he ignored the rest of them, who were then few in number by that point. Dennison was packing a gun, as expected, but this proved the least of his problems when he began tossing grenades behind him with minimal regard for anyone but himself.

[edit] Dennison's Demise

The barrage of grenades had cost the lives of more innocent bystanders, something that sent Richie over the edge. When he finally caught up with Dennison after chasing him to a rooftop in Kings, though, he restrained himself, instead demanding he return his money and turn himself in. If only Dennison had listened.

Dennision reacted by brandishing a gun and opening fire on Richie, who managed to avoid the shots and find a safe place to cast his protective spell. Shortly after that Richie went mental, charging toward Dennison in a psychotic rage before finally landing a punch into Dennison's nose. While wholly unintentional, the punch was powerful enough to send Dennision falling off the rooftop into a nearby alley. He did not survive the fall.

[edit] Aftermath

Several days after Dennison's death was written off as "self defense", Richie raided his apartment, hoping to find his money. While he did get the money back, he also came across a couple of swords - a rapier and a ninja blade, which he uses to this day.

After getting his money back though, things didn't feel normal again. He once beleived street fighting wouldn't have brought harm to the innocent, yet many died as an indirect result of his career path. He missed Momo Serizawa, whom no amount of cash could ever replace. He lost his friend to greed.

This was the day Richie turned his back on the life he once loved. He took one last look at the money, before finally dishing it out to various charities, leaving some to pay for Serizawa's forthcoming funeral.

Once the money was gone, he turned his attention to the swords he took from Dennison's apartment, gradually developing his own fighting style with the blades. Once he felt he was competant enough he donned his custom-made biker jacket and made his way to Atlas Park's City Hall. To the Hero registrar.

[edit] Recent history

Since registering as a hero, Richie has seen no end of trouble.

[edit] Minor events

  • He recently had an evil counterpart - Divider - literally ripped out of his own body, who in turn killed Sunita Maybourne, whom Richie was getting to know well.
  • He also learned from his mother that he is part-alien. Barien, to be specific. As a result, his body went through several changes that, among other things, means he can't get drunk from alcoholic beverages. At least not the stuff Pocket D offers.
  • He tried to ask Terrilyn out once. He wasn't her type.
  • Shortly after Valentines Day, after telling Samantha Energien that he couldn't get drunk, she offered him a flask of something. Nobody really explained what is was, but it definitely got him drunk. Samantha then took him back to his place, and if you can't guess what happened next, you're probably too young anyway.
  • He got hit by a speeding van while pulling away from Pandora's Box in Steel Canyon. He survived the ordeal, and stumbled his way to Pocket D and his then-girlfriend Kitty Vaikana.
  • An evil enitity that took over Ferret's body and used it to commit violent acts had managed to get into his mind and seemed to try and possess him. Richie fought him off and as far as he is aware, he's gone. Unfortunately, he was proven wrong when the 'evil' Ferret began to torment him again. Richie has since come to the conclusion that he's somehow gotten rid of the bastard permanently. Somehow.

[edit] Dark Days

Recently, his counterpart made an attempt on his sister's life. Divider underestimated Gemma Stacker, though, and found himself seriously injured and back in the Zig. To celebrate, Richie dropped his "Mr. Pointless" moniker and applied for a namechange to "Crazy Dragon".

He escaped soon after, but not before fighting it out with Richie. The fight ended in Divider's favour when he impaled the former street fighter with his two swords and kicked him down a 20ft drop. Richie spent the next three days in hospital to recover. Meanwhile, a strange couple has arrived in Paragon has arrived with one thing on their mind: They want Richie's spellbooks as they contain far more powerful spells than Richie is currently packing. Problem is, they were never translated before Sunita Maybourne was killed, so Richie turned to the one person he thinks might be able to pull it off: Martyn Crow.

Martyn has successfully translated the books, and many of the spells were revealed to be highly destructive or just plain cruel (one of the spells caused a dark mist to form inside a target's lungs, slowly suffocating them).

Trouble struck. Crash Leadfoot was suddenly possessed and forced to attack a few heroes at the Galaxy Girl statue, including Melphon, before then informing them that Richie had to give the books to The Couple or else Gemma would be killed. Richie, upon hearing about this, promptly got the books back from Martyn and eventually met up with The Couple to hand them over. However, he was screwed over when The Couple gave the order to kill Gemma, prompting Richie to run and call Melphon, telling him to rush to The Gish as fast as possible. Richie succeeded in getting the message through, before he was knocked out. Before he lost conciousness, though, one of The Couple mentioned Divider, prompting Richie to rush to Ouroborous and jump back to the night the sadistic doppelganger came into being. It turned out to be the work of The Couple themselves!

Richie, after finding this out and ensuring Gemma was alive and well, decided that The Couple had to be stopped. However, he had no means of tracking them. Fortunately, with the aid of Catz, he traced them back to the Hotel Geneva in Galaxy City, where he found himself sent hurtling back down to the streets after being blasted by a 'magic bomb'.

The Couple where then at large, jumping around the world, causing bloodshed each day. Meanwhile, Richie was stuck in Paragon, dealing with Crash and her mental recession to a 5-year-old's state of mind, his sister's recovery in hospital and Terrilyn's recent, but unconnected death. In spite of that, he made an attempt to anticipate The Couple's next move by following the international news as they caused havoc in China, France, South Africa and England. None of the locations seemed to form any sort of pattern to their small massacres.

Eventually, The Couple returned, and thanks to Catz' spell, Richie was the first to know. Tracing them to a Warehouse in Galaxy, Richie set about scouting the place repeatedly, trying to devise a plan of attack. However, all plans were thrown out of the window when Richie attacked the warehouse himself, leaving Melphon and the recently recovered Gemma to go after him.

Richie's attack on the couple could be considered a success after he crushed one of them - Derek - under some steel shelfing, prompting Deborah, her partner, to escape with him. She couldn't save Derek, and Divider them killed her, deciding he'd had enough of taking orders from them.

Richie, with the help of Martyn Crow, who was projecting an ghostly image of himself from Newcastle, found the books. Richie shortly decided there and then: The books had to be destroyed. Melphon And Gemma decided to leave while Richie placed a few lit matches onto the books, leaving them to burn. Then... Divider struck! Richie followed the screams to the main entrance of the warehouse, winding up getting knocked to the ground along with the other two. Divider sought the books for himself, and refused to beleive that Richie destroyed them. Eventually, with the aid of Gemma and Melphon, Richie finally killed Divider, forcing one of the evil doppelganger's blades through his chest, leaving him for dead.

It was finally over. Soon after, Richie decided he needed a break and left for Durham for a few days.

[edit] Genderbender?

When Richie returned to Paragon, things took a turn for the... wierd. A young woman in a seriously foul mood cursed Richie, leaving him to discover the hard way when then curse turned him into a woman!

"Reggie", with the help of Psysan attempted to identify the woman and subsequently contact her as soon as she returned to Paragon. Richie himself got in touch with her and learned that the spell she could have used to reverse the curse and return Richie to normal was... missing. Annoyed at the setback, Richie searched the University in Steel Canyon for a similar spell, which was found surprisingly quick. However, this version of the spell required something else: a gem that happened to be in the posession of the Thorns.

Reggie and Psysan met outside the building in Kings where the gem was held and proceeded to clear out all the Thorns, reaching and beating down their lieutenant and claiming the gem around his neck.

Reggie foolishly ignored Psysan's advice and rushed back to her apartment to become Richie again. The spell, unfortunately, backfired. Instead of simply reverting Reggie back to Richie, the both of them became separate entities. Both shared the same memories and knowledge up until that moment, but Reggie couldn't seem to remember all of Richie's spells.

Hours later, as Richie tried to clear his head at Galaxy Girl, Psysan received a phone call. It was Reggie, completely oblivious to the fact that she was now a separate entity. She didn't quite take the reality too well, contemplating suicide shortly after Psysan rushed to meet her in Atlas.

After a little chat together, Psysan eventually offered to let Reggie stay at her apartment, making any necessary arrangements for the newly-created clone the next day.

[edit] Further Education

After the events that led up to Reggie's 'birth', Psysan suggested he go see an expert on the magical arts. After arguing with the psychic for a few hours about it, he reluctantly agree, heading to Steel Canyon University the next day. There, he was introduced to a former hero by the name of Shadowcrash, who took on a career educating new, inexperienced heroes after losing her own magic abilities fighting her power-hungry ex outside the city, and currently studies regularly at the university in Croatoa. However, due to an incident when another student got cocky with a powerful spell, he's forced to wear a specific uniform, of which spares are readily on hand if the same thing happens again. Not completely necessary for Richie, but not everyone can change clothes as quickly and easily as he can.

[edit] Family Matters (Psysan's plot)

When Susan Bright came under threat from distant half-sister Laura Stracknov, Richie offered his assistance in confronting the deranged psychic, along with Fanservice Girl, Josh Stormfall, Saria Lansing and Cindersnap. Things hadn't quite gone to plan when they group reached her boat, however. Cindersnap was forced to mediport back to the nearest hospital after his boarding attempt went south, while Sue herself ended up being captured, leaving the rest of the group to face the thugs and mercenaries between them and Stracknov. Violently.

Upon reaching Stracknov, they soon discovered the she was in fact possessed by her own father, whom she herself beleived she had killed some time ago. With Sue tied to a chair, and everyone bar Saria then pinned to the nearest walls, it was left to Saria to fight Sue's father while killed him off, giving Laura control of her own body once more.

It wasn't quite over yet, as everyone found out when Laura armed several rockets within the room. Triggering them and killing herself in the process. Everyone was lucky to have Saria with them, who stuggled to contain the explosions just long enough for everyone to escape with an unconcious Sue. Saria opted to remain behind. Needless to say those who remained concious weren't feeling too great on the way back to Paragon.

On the advice of Psysan, Richie sought an expert on the magic arts in order to get a better grasp of his magic abilities and screw up less. He's improving, but he's still uncertain of himself.

[edit] Trivia

  • He thinks DJ Zero is a prat for having the dampener installed at Pocket D.
  • He has developed the ability to change his voice to sound deeper and somewhat more demonic, to a point where he has been doing it subconciously whenever someone annoys or upsets him.
  • Unlike his younger sister, Gemma, Richie prefers indie rock.
  • Owns a scooter, which he had left back in England, but had to ship it to Paragon after a friend of his crashed it and subsequently got himself involved with a rather unpleasant working-class family. It was then totalled by the speeding van.
  • Also recently acquired a keytar.
