Note: This profile is out of date. It is the first of four profiles I will be updating soon.
My own personal Barbie-doll slash action-figure. Codename is a super-hott, gun-wielding, ex-military hero with a bad-ass attitude. Can you get any more American? I love roleplaying this character because the assault rifle set allows me to enact those awesome moments from classic action movies like Rambo, Commando and Hard Boiled. Having said that, Codename is usually the stealthy assassin when in action but on the occasion, most likely in that time of the month, she goes on a bullet-spraying frenzy. Lastly, as a person, the story of Altair Stevens can be quite deep. She is essentially a little girl turned into a tool by the one man she ever loved; her father.

[edit] Affiliations
- Dragonfly - Sabrina San is a very close friend of Altair, the two of them are members of the Paragon University Cheerleading Squad. Both are also members of the Militia and often work as a duo on their crimefighting adventures.
- The Priest - Reverend Pious Hunter who helped Altair find happiness and direction through God. The Priest is also an affiliate of the Militia and helps where he can.
Supergroup: The Militia, Red Cell
[edit] Personality
Like every woman, there are three sides to little miss Stevens. She is kind, caring and notably happy in the company of her church friends and holy persons. At home, she feels sad, lonely and unloved. Only when she is at school or on an adventure with friends like Sabrina is she truly herself; the superbly skilled, strong-willed and fearless soldier.
[edit] With God
Most nights, Altair escapes to Moth Cathedral. There she engages in prayer, worship and Bible Studies to enrich her holy spirit. The cathedral is her comfort zone, where she finds peace and tranquility; the root of her kindness, politeness and humility. However, she was not always Christian and while at the Cathedral she spends a lot of time with the Reverend Pious to remind her of her past self.
[edit] At Home
At home, Altair can't help but feel lonely and unloved. Her father, Professor Stephan Stevens, who she no longer lives with, is a biotechnologist and can be very strict and demanding. True, he loves her more than anything in the world but the fact that he sees her as his greatest 'project' blinds him severely and makes Altair doubt his love for her person. The professor runs scientific examinations and analysis on her brain's nanotechnological development on a weekly basis, inevitably having access to her recorded memories.
The last time Altair asked her father, nicely, to respect her privacy, he had lost his temper and an argument followed. According to him, his continued medical observations is not just for scientific advancement, but also for her own safety. Her elder brother Daniel shares the same concerns as her father, both men going out of their ways to protect Altair while unintentionally causing her emotional hardship with their disregard for her personal life.
[edit] Fighting
Equipped with the moral teachings of the Priest, Altair chooses carefully how she punishes the wicked. Outside classes, her and Sabrina would often embark on wild adventures, carrying out stealth missions and investigative projects, most times regarding Militia assignments. Their collaborative efforts in gathering information is unmatched. It is during dangerous and exciting activities such as these that Altair becomes her true self; the warrior. Fast-mouthed, quick-thinking and incredibly tactically adept. Her favourite sequence during armed combat is the grenade-toss into full-auto, followed by humourous remarks over the fallen machines.
[edit] Motivation
After being expelled from the Army late last year, Altair lost her focus on life and began down a spiral of self-hate and depression. She moved from West Point, New York to live with her father in Springfield, Massachusetts and soon regretted that decision. Although the rural parts of Springfield (where she often enjoyed target practice with her brother Daniel) was her favourite stomping ground, she decided to move on and start a new life in Paragon City. Maybe join the police force or something. Her father agreed, "yes, you need to return to the more physical and mentally challenging activities like back in the army Altair, we need more field testings on the project; its like a decaying gold mine with you lounging around at home."
The next day, Altair moved to Paragon City and began her heroing career. Procuring her license wasn't too difficult, she'd already done similar services for the country and sported three cabinets worth of medals and trophies. The registrar advised her to sign up with a group of crime-fighting citizens called the Militia so that she didn't fight alone. Thats when she met Sabrina. Soon, the two of them were cleaning the streets and the thrill of action was enough to motivate her through the day.
Later, she signed up to continue academic studies at Paragon University. It didn't take too long for her to be noticed at school; she was so used to dressing like a cadet that on her first day, she arrived on campus in full military uniform. Thankfully, over the following months her military experience, matched with other super-powered students gained her respect and a positive reputation. She even made it onto the cheerleading squad. However, things started to go down hill from here on; blinded by peer pressure and school popularity contests, she allowed herself to get into drugs and alcohol abuse. It even showed in her work with the Militia; she was careless in battle and sloppy in stealth missions. The university subjected her to counseling. That was when she met the reverend Pious. He was extremely effective in understanding her hardships and offered her spiritual deliverance. Reluctantly, she learnt about God.
Soon after, Altair was arrested and jailed for grievous bodily harm while on patrol with Militia members Silver Eagle, Scorche and Shadow Pariah. It was during this time that she finally decided to re-think her life and evaluate the reasons for doing what she does. The Reverend was always there for her, he frequently visited to talk things over and regularly preached the Word for her enjoyment. Weeks later, she was released along with fellow inmate and Militia teammate Jayhawk.
Ever since her time in prison, Altair has dedicated her life to the Will of God. She now works with the Priest as his sidekick and friend.

A father's technology turns his daughter's disability into a superability
Altair's only true power lies within the nanometer computer chip fused into her cerebrum at the expense of sexual arousal. At birth, Altair's brain was abnormally slow in regulating consciousness, attention, and information processing. Her father used his superb knowledge of cybernetics to design a super-small computer that would work closely with the reticular activating system in the brain stem, the autonomic nervous system and the endocrine system, in controlling Altair's arousal. This not only solved the problem of Altair's disability but gave her the ability to surpass the human level of sensory activity. Basically, her father boosted her brain capabilities from abnormally slow to superfast, meaning Altair can willingly move and think at thrice the human speed (30m/s at maximum sprint, the same speed as a Cheetah). This scientific accomplishment remains secret from the scientific world in order to protect Altair. Speaking of secrets, Altair has always assumed that her abnormally low sex drive was due to her natural mental disability, which in someways is true, but her father purposely programmed her computer chip to suppress sexual arousal completely, successfully maintaining and monitoring his daughters virginity.
[edit] Cyber-telepathy
At the age of sixteen, Altair agreed to have her computer chip upgraded with state-of-the-art nanotechnology so she could communicate remotely with computers and other computer-powered equipment, at will. At the time, she thought it'd be 'cool' and on a few occasions, she exploited this power and influenced cash dispensers to her advantage. Thats when she learnt that her father had access to her visual memory.
[edit] XM8-C
The XM8-C is a lightweight assault rifle system developed by the United States Army in 2005, ironically, after the first Rikti invasion. As with all of Codename's devices, this particular super rifle has been modified by Daniel Stevens to respond to his sister's nano-computer. It holds 5.56 × 45 mm NATO cartridges, fires by gas-operated action-systems and rotating bolts. It can fire up to 800 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 980 m/s. Its effective range is between 0 and 800 meters (in sniper-mode) and feeds with a 30 round detachable box magazine or a 100-round C-Mag drum magazine. It has built in reflex (laser) sight with 1x magnification (4× for DMR variant).
The true beauty of this weapon is its four variants; a compact PDW (personal defense weapon) with a 9.5 inch (241 mm) barrel (which Codename is most fond of when blazing in dual-Uzi style), a carbine with a 12.5 inch (318 mm) barrel, and sniper and automatic rifle variants with 20 inch (508 mm) barrels. In addition, accessories such as optical sights, a grenade launcher, M10 gasoline flamethrower and a bipod are integrated using a new system which allows for precision attachment. Codename also equips a liquid-nitrogen freeze ray pistol to hold the enemy in place, ready for arrest.
[edit] Explosives
Codename's cloaked inventory consists of a number of gadgets designed to operate or trigger under her cyber-telepathy. This includes disintegrating caltrops, web grenades, highly explosive trip mines, the VX19 timed explosives and a self-repair anti-gravity targeting drone. Dr Stephan's nanotechnology supports an invisibility field coated onto Altair's field attire. The field is made up of camouflaging nano-robots that also forms a cooling and protective armour for high-speed sprinting; a new material the Doctor labeled 'cryoadamantium'. Last but not least, Codename owns a number of Long Range missiles and collapsible spitfire automatic turrets currently hidden atop Wayne Towers.
[edit] Jet-Propellers
Codename's bodygear is completed by a set of jet-propelled inline rollerblades and a backpack modified by Daniel Stevens. The jets are tiny and designed not to capsize at sudden burst. Altair's own inhuman equilibrium allows her to boost without falling over. The jet-propelled skates are capable of accelerating to 90 miles per second, rivaling the speed of the world's fastest diving bird; the Peregrine falcon, or a high-speed train. The camouflaged backpack holding her equipment is also jet-propelled to allow enhanced jump in those situations where a high wall becomes the greatest adversary.
[edit] Battlesuit CB-3
The battlesuit CB-3 is an improved lightweight nanotechnological armour and stealth unit with built-in speed-booster jet for enhanced leaping, hovering and sprinting. Its made with cryo-steel capable of withstanding continuous machine gun fire, grenades and mine explosions. It also cools down body temperatures when subjected to fire damage or built-up friction at high speeds. The small jet-propellers are capable of burst speeds up to 100 miles per second. The helmet piece folds away backwards to allow freedom of movement but when worn, it offers limited protection from EM pulses to Altair's key vulnerability; her cerebral chip. The designer, Daniel Stevens is currently working on more machines for his adventurous little sister.
[edit] Codename BT-X
Daniel Stevens is currently working on an armoured war vehicle for land, water and air assault. Although the designs for it are based on the Arachnos Flier and Longbow Aircrafts, the BT-X mecha is being built to transform between a bipedal landcraft, an aircraft and ocean cruiser. Already it looks like the machine will be 580,000 lb in loaded weight and 80 feet tall or long. Armaments include machine gun fire and laser blasters but the machine will be equipped with 2 internal rotary launchers each capable of holding 6x Raduga Kh-55 cruise missiles or 12× Raduga Kh-15 short-range nuclear missiles. Of course, this machine will hardly ever be used, let alone be cleared to carry nuclear weaponry.
The BT-X battle tank's pilot suit however has been completed. Built-in computer chips allows Codename to control the mecha cyber-telepathically from within the suit, which fits firmly on her. To power the vehicle, the mechanical pilot suit constantly supplies over a million volts of electricity. The electricity flows from two large batteries at the wrist of the suit. Codename is currently testing the suit as means to shield herself from EMP attacks and also as an efficient electrical weapon.
[edit] Abilities
Altair's scientifically boosted sensory system allows her a unique advantage in the field as well as everyday life. She can sense disaster just seconds before it strikes, effectively allowing her time to dodge incoming attacks. This enhanced speed and reflex allows her to evade most ranged blasts and melee attacks below the speed of 30m/s.
Altair's body has been trained relentlessly to withstand the pressures of high-speed reflex. Her muscles are supple and ultra-flexible. Other abilities include extra-fluid movement and motion; giving her en edge in (cheerleading) gymnastics and extreme sports.
[edit] Vulnerabilities
Altair's superhuman speed, reflex, and cyber-telepathy is due to the nano-computer fused into her brain, so the vulnerability here is quite obvious. When subjected to extreme voltage or an electro-magnetic pulse, Altair's computer activates a fail-safe mode, triggering an emergency teleport to base before automatically shutting down. Too much voltage could override the fail-safe, fry the computer chip and destroy her cerebrum, rendering the brain of activity; an instant death.
Despite this danger, Altair continues to risk her safety for the greater good. This alone makes her a real hero, but Sabrina reckons she's just plain suicidal. Its noted that Altair favours missions concerning rampaging robots or inhuman creatures allowing her full and legitimate use of lethal force. When engaged in combat with human hostiles such as thugs, cults and terrorists, Altair reluctantly uses minimal force; flames designed to singe the skin, shock explosives, freeze-ray firearms and armour-piercing live ammunition carefully targeted to maim or stun.
Her father greatly disapproves of her fighting robots and other electrical enemies but Altair does so anyway; secretly, she thrives on the dangers involved and the risk of death, but mainly, robots are pretty much the only targets upon which she can exert maximum force.
Typically, Altair's greatest weakness is her emotions. Her deepest desire is a world free of suffering and hate. Deep inside, she loves everything in existence and appreciates its beauty whether it be made by man or God. Wars and conflicts are fun at first, but the deaths and destruction is extremely saddening. She fights according to the Will of God and understands that sometimes, lethal force is the only answer. However, before withdrawing the XM8-C, she makes a point of offering a peaceful resolution. She can go from either extremes of the scale; fearsome, judgmental execution of the inhuman, right down to showing divine mercy for her human enemies. This level of love and kindness is often regarded as a weakness.
Truth be told, Altair would rather use her skills to further human scientific and physical advancement rather than for war and fighting. She enjoys the adrenaline rush from extreme sports and cheerleading gymnastics enough not to miss her super weapons. Other vulnerabilities include the fact that she's only human; however skilled she is in defense tactics, she's very much prone to injury.
