Chaos Augury is a mutant blessed by fabulous luck. She is a curious agent of FreedomCorps, sent to fight crime and villainy when she actually does nothing. She just enters places and waits. And then, things happen.

Chaos Augury has ties to Darksparrow and through her, with the Silent Tempest, its leader Coile or Light of Truth.
[edit] Personality
Augury is a good natured person, unable to understand someone would not like her, wish her harm. She is also displaying a high degree of naivety. Polite, she prefers to try to convince a criminal to redeem and abandon his or her way, even when the said criminal is aiming at her with a machine gun.
She also tends to have a short attention span, confident that, at the end, events will turn in her favor anyway. Augury rarely had to make efforts in her life, as everything came to her freely, without working, just by sheer luck. It also makes her quite slow witted, added to a lack of high education, Chaos Augury can easily be qualified as dumb.
She is superficial, not really able or even willing to go into deep analysis of life, motives and implications.
Finally, she is also caring and generous but knows that sometimes people resent her extreme luck and see her as displaying pity. So she tends to conceal what she does to help others.

Chaos Augury decided to work with Freedom Corps mainly because she was idle and felt she could be useful at something. Since, she felt her presence was helping the city, people so she keeps acting as a hero, even if she would deny it as she associates heroes to many things she can't do. After meeting Darksparrow and despite the relative disdain and suspicion from the time traveler, she decided to help her, showing her the virtues of TV, bank accounts or book counseling how to find a husband.

Chaos Augury is a walking probability paradox. Not a single day without something totally unlikely happening to her. Wherever, whenever she goes, something nice is going to happen to her : she is going to be the 1000th customer to enter the shop, she will be selected randomly to win a car, if she wants to buy clothes, it will be exactly when the Supersales!(tm) are starting with a SpecialPromotion(tm) for the first customer, she will win once more a luxury cruise in the Caribbean etc...

Mary Elizabeth is from an ordinary family living at Tampa (FLO). It was almost immediately discovered that things were happening oddly in her presence. Living a life where the only surprises were the good ones, without a single cloud in her sky, Mary Elizabeth willingly and happily accepted to have tests performed on her to better understand her curious nature. She was asked to go to Paragon City where tests could be done. It is during that time she was first nicknamed "Augury" due to her habit to predict the test results and, by extension, many things related to her. Her "predictions" were never precise as she could only guess vaguely the results but still amazing. However, as the testing sessions continued and she was sent to follow some Freedom Corps spondsored heroes, one scientist added "Chaos" to the nickname. Partially because he was considering a theory of chaos to explain Mary Elizabeth mutant power, partially because he had witnessed or got reports about how things could break or jam or be lost in her presence, how villains ended arguing for petty things, during the test missions.
She finally adopted the hero name "Chaos Augury" just because she didn't want to say she didn't like the "Chaos" part. She was afraid to miff the scientists.
She since lives at Paragon City, in a big appartment she won. She also owns two other houses in USA, three luxury or sport cars (that she never drive personaly) and regularly go visit places all around the world depending on what she was recently offered or won.
Having met Darksparrow, she decided the odd time displaced girl was a friend, for a reason still not really clear, probably not even for Augury herself. Augury is then often seen in the vicinity of Darksparrow, appearing when she isn't really expected, always coming from nowhere, always finding her friend by chance. She also noticed Darksparrow inability to cope with the modern world (or past world from Darksparrow point of view) and then is trying to help her by bringing her gifts or funding Darksparrow bank account. She always denied she is helping Darksparrow, knowing her friend is only reasoning in terms of barter or salvage. So every gift she is doing is just "useless things she just found".

- she once decided to become a Ninja to be a better help for her friend Darksparrow. Wearing two masks at once, with a Ninja outfit including high heels, fishnets and a sexy top, she tried to perform as a "fcout", much to the dismay of Darksparrow who tried to avoid her being hurt
- Chaos Augury current project is to become an astronaut. Even if the director of NASA she personally phoned to (speak about luck) seems to disagree for now.
- Chaos Augury believes that if the phone numbers of Johnny, Brad and George keep changing, it's because they have technical problems. No, it can't be because none of them want to talk to her.
- Chaos Augury is calling Darksparrow "my best friend" since almost their first encounter, even if they barely knew each other and despite Darksparrow deny.
