Belina is sometimes short with people she doesn't know well. Being an Empath she has to have her barriers up at all times or suffer an influx of everything anyone is feeling within a given distance. As Belina grows more and more powerful her radius of awareness grows, so she is constantly having to work harder to keep her walls up. This can translate to a coldness, or aloofness, when she is with people she doesn't feel safe around. Once she has let down her guard somewhat, she is an extremely giving person, and only really desires what every other living being in the universe desires - companionship with others.
[edit] Motivation
At first, Belina was solely interested in catching up with her sister. Then, when her sister was missing upon her arrival in Paragon City, she was focussed totally on finding her again. Now that Ameana is back, Belina should be happy. However, being an Empath in a big city makes you almost unable to leave. Belina now stays in Paragon City to act as a hub for the activity of the rest of her extended and adoptive family, and of course to fight crime wherever and whenever it stands against her.

She was a shaping up to be a strong projector of raw energy, however, her accident in transit on the way to Paragon City left her energy projections reduced in physical force but rather increased in debilitating force. Her healing projections remained the same, but her damaging projections now have an uncanny ability to bypass the armour of an enemy and damage them regardless - and sometimes even destroy her target's defensive powers/equipment.
As well as this her mental prowess, under careful guidance from her mother, has grown significantly - she is able to project her will onto others, produce multipurpose auras (light-bending auras for disguise, auras of courage & strength to reinforce her teammates, personal auras to protect her from damage, give her steadfast resolve or even fly!) and affect close mental bonds with those dear to her.
[edit] Vulnerabilities
Belina's outward energy projections are her obvious strength, her weakness is her inability to use them protectively. She can afford herself some mild resistance to most forms of damage through Psychic concentration, but is still as vulnerable as any average human to debilitating action of any kind. Belina's physical strength is nowhere near as strong as her energy projections (as a result of her stature and the radiation she was exposed to when first travelling to Paragon City), resultantly she is not as capable of resisting assault from close quarters - but at range there are few so able to take a beating and continually fight back without tiring.
[edit] Equipment
Belina has very few material possessions that would class as "Equipment", this is because nearly all the kit she needs lies within her remarkable alien physiology. She does, however, carry a liberated Ghost-Slaying Axe from one of Battle Maiden's highest ranking chieftains (used, presumably, to devastating effect versus Black Swan's shadow minions). She also has a small assortment of communication devices and a teleporter or two tucked about her person in order to maintain constant commlink with her Super Group when out on patrol, and to aid her getting around the complicated metropolis of Paragon City. She was recently spotted using a phase-shifting body-cloak device, and has been seen in possession of strange meteor-rock known to originate in Bloody Bay.
[edit] Character History
Little sister to Ameana, she has always been in her shadow. Until now. Her powers have awakened and she has followed her sister into the Paragon City. Having not heard from Ameana for almost a month she hitch-hiked on the first train leaving her hometown straight after she healed her first injury. It turned out to be a bit of a disaster when the train crashed and spilled its nuclear fuel dangerously close to her.
Her extra-terrestrial body, too resilient to be burned up by the radiation, instead absorbed it, changing some of her powers beyond recognition. She soon recovered and set off again for Paragon City as fast as she could, ready to master her powers and find her older sister.
She has finally found her sister and has been helping her get back on her feet ever since.

Empathically absorbs her physical form from nearby mental influences - she only recently discovered how to revert to a form free of influence, her 'true form' is winged and shrouded in a seething nimbus of white light.
