There is a history of bad blood between Bambi and Liberty Girl. Even though the source of their dispute has been eradicated, they still seem to obsessively hate one another. Bambi is rumoured to be involved with one of the criminal gangs that operate throughout the Etoile Isles, but this has yet to be confirmed.

By reputation Bambi tends to be quiet. She's generally open and friendly but doesn't suffer fools gladly. She is, however, driven by an underlying and irresistible passion for what she sees as personal justice. In that respect she can be extremely narrow-focused and unswervingly stubborn. She detests her involvement with many of the people she finds herself mixing with, and when she becomes angry, as under circumstances such as those, she can become extraordinarily stubborn and confrontational.

Bambi Delight was on the run for quite some time after being arrested for the murder of her former partner, Lulu Laine, but although she has been cleared of that particular crime, her continued deep entanglement in the web of corruption that pervades the Rogue Isles has not permitted her removal from the list of criminals wanted by US Authorities.

[edit] Primary Powers

Bambi's defining ability is her super-human strength. Since the detonation that caused her mutant genetic base to flare into overdrive, Bambi's powers have been building steadily. When she was first arrested, she was unable to resist the determined efforts of the PPD but only a short while later this athletic but nevertheless small young woman was able to pulverise two Longbow agents and several guards and fellow inmates to escape from Zigursky Penitentiary, where she was being held in a maximum security cell pending arraignment. Given that she had never received any combat training to that point, her feat was extraordinary and can only be ascribed to her development of physical strength beyond normal human parameters. Since escaping to the Rogue Isles her strength has apparently increased, and seems to be continuing to do so.

PPD and Longbow officers have independently reported Bambi's physiology has mutated to lend her body an extraordinary resistance to physical damage. Superior blunt or sharp physical attacks may inflict some damage to her body, but her rate of healing is such that such attacks must be applied in significant numbers and at speed in order to counter her mutant physiological defence and recovery. Like her fantastic strength, Bambi's ability to resist physical damage seems to be increasing since her arrival in the Rogue Isles.

Little is known about Bambi's new abilities beyond her superior strength and resistance to physical damage. She has much improved stamina and is able to recover her endurance and heal far faster than any normal human, and as might be expected given her improved stamina and strength, she can run faster than most non-metahuman athletes.

At times Bambi has been seen using stolen technology to travel rapidly around the Rogue Isles. Longbow suspect that it was she who stole one of their Raptor packs to escape after a raid on a bank in Kings Row, and she has also been reported using a jump pack and a Goldbricker rocket pack. However, it is her strength and speed that enable her to leap long distances very rapidly (including over some buildings) and which she uses most frequently to travel.

Bambi is not entirely unskilled, but her fighting style is one developed from experience of street fighting in the Rogue Isles where her strength has lent her an advantage. She seems to operate as, basically, muscle for hire. She has never been trained to fight but relies on hitting her enemies very hard and very quickly.

[edit] Vulnerabilities

Given her lack of training and consequent clumsy (and dirty) fighting style, Bambi has been known to get into difficulties against powerful or skilled opponents. Her otherwise indestructible body has been battered to defeat when overwhelmed by trained Longbow officers, for example, although that was some time ago and she still, somehow, managed to evade capture on that occasion. She has also been lucky to avoid capture after defeats at the hands of Liberty Girl.

Opponents who rely on attacking her with methods other than fists, boots and bullets, seem to offer a better chance of success: Sea Witch is known to have humiliated Bambi with her stamina-sapping storm control and energy attacks (although Bambi exacted a brutal revenge shortly afterwards), while Circle of Thorns demons who have clouded her vision have reduced the effectiveness of her ferocious punches and had her in trouble according to some sources. Leaders of the Lost have also spoken about her inability to resist their mental attacks, but so far no opponent of sufficient psionic ability has been able to test the Lost's boasts.

Bambi seems to carry very little into a fight beyond her fists, but she does occasionally employ at least some items of interest. For example, Longbow have alleged that it was Bambi Delight who battered one of their Eagle agents to steal a Raptor pack during a bank robbery in King's Row, and she is almost definitely in possession of a Goldbricker rocket pack acquired, no doubt, through violence. She has at various times also acquired weapons such as a sub-machine gun taken from the Family and a ghost-slayer rifle obtained from Veluta Lunata, a known former aide of Ghost Widow.

Some have speculated that Bambi's signature leather costume is itself part of her armoury, her stage costume possibly having been tuned to her body at the molecular level by the gene-bomb. Given that neither the notes nor a sample of the experimental bomb can be obtained, and that neither a tissue nor a costume sample has been obtained from Bambi, such speculation is likely to remain just that - pure speculation.

Little or nothing is known about Bambi Delight's early life, other than she was born in Paragon City - probably Kings Row. Although a seemingly law-abiding citizen, Bambi's past was effectively wiped out as a result of attacks on government computers and databases during the first Rikti War. Bambi was working in the adult entertainment industry before the end of that war, and although she was not quite a star, she was on a steep curve towards stardom in that field. She was filming the sequel to her successful dvd Amazons in Space when a battle between a Freakshow faction and the Knives of Artemis spilled over into the vicinity of the shoot. The Freakshow detonated a Rikti gene-bomb that had been stolen from a Crey lab: several people were killed, and many more injured, while many others suffered no consequences at all. It is now known that Bambi possesses a genetic mutation in specific counter-harmony with the bomb - because instead of being destroyed, her genetic mutation flared into life and she rapidly developed markers for superhuman strength and greatly increased resistance and recovery to physical damage.

Bambi was able to return to work, and to her exotic club routine with her partner. It was during one of their performances in the Family-owned Crank club in Independence Port that a violent fight erupted. The battle wrecked the club and decimated the local Family hierarchy. After the violence dissipated some time later, police found what they thought was the broken body of Bambi's partner among the wreckage. Bambi was arrested and incarcerated in Zigursky Penitentiary pending arraignment since that was considered the most secure option for a being with metahuman abilities.

Bambi never stood trial, however. Shortly after her arrival, Bambi escaped with a number of other metahuman internees when Arachnos operatives raided the Zig. Having fled to the Rogue Isles, Bambi's powers and abilities have reportedly grown and improved with time. It has been confirmed that she has been, and will no doubt continue to be, contracted for specific jobs by Arachnos, the Family, and the Cage Consortium, among others, yet she resolutely refuses to operate as anything other than utterly independent - all of those organizations have been her targets more often than her business associates. Nonetheless, her activities mean that she remains listed by federal agencies as a "fugitive at large."
