[edit] Affiliations

Although she currently works for the US Government, Kata maintains links with her past in Russia.

She has a friend, Gregor, who works in IT Support at the Russian Embassy and who knows her from her days in the Russian Federal Army.

Her former 'boss', Red Commissar, and teammate, Red Hammer, from her days as a Worker of Eastern Europe are good friends though she has little time these days to socialise.

Kata was a one-time reserve member of The Regulators, acting as a reconnaissance operative in their war against the city's drug problem. She has also performed ad hoc duties for The Vindicators.

[edit] Personality

Kata is quiet and usually calm. She tends to watch and listen, although if the mood takes her she can be more approachable and chatty.

In battle, she is disciplined and resilient if a little eager.

[edit] Motivation

Kata seeks to better herself, whatever that may entail. She wishes to impress others by her actions and, although she has seen some of what the World has to offer, she genuinely believes in Right and Wrong.

[edit] Powers

[edit] Primary Powers

Katana, Throwing Knives, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Pistol

[edit] Secondary Powers

Super Reflexes Heightened reflexes on the battlefield due to military training, further developed with her work for the CIA and now her career as a hero.

==Additional Powers==-

[edit] Travel

Flight Kata uses anti-gravity technology in order to fly. She previously wore a pair of spring-loaded boots which allowed her to leap fair distances but which often caused consternation amongst the citizens of Paragon City , who didn't take to her using their apartment buildings as spring boards.

[edit] Power Pool

Fitness Kata is at the peak of her physical fitness and so tends to recover slightly more quickly from flesh wounds than the average man or woman.

[edit] Abilities

During the Requiem War Kata developed her computer hacking skills: She was given the chance to use equipment at ZorTel Industries. She also endeavoured to design a 'giant mech-man' of which a prototype was built and used to ferry stranded innocents in Perez Park back to the safety of Galaxy City.

Kata has undertaken many long surveillance missions and has performed reconnaissance for various groups.

[edit] Vulnerabilities

Kata is human and mortal. She relies heavily on luck in prolonged gun battles with no firearms to hand. She is also occasionally haunted by self-doubt, as evidenced when she panicked during a Council base raid and had to be taken to the Bell Point Medical Center in Independence Port.

[edit] Character History

Born in Minsk, Belarus (formerly of the USSR) on 26th April, 1981. Five years later the Chernobyl nuclear reactor incident occurred only 80 miles away in the Ukraine.

Her parents were well-to-do types in Soviet Russia and her father, especially, was a staunch Communist.

At the age of eight, Kata was sent to a training and medical test centre in Arch'angelsk, Siberia. She was tested for signs of 'abnormal abilities'. The tests lasted for three years and Kata left the facility embittered at her parents' decision to send her there.

Kata went on to state school where she excelled at physical education and, on her sixteenth birthday, was conscripted into the Russian Federal Army where she trained in computers and, of course, combat. She also developed a love of ballet and art.

At the age of twenty-one, Kata left her motherland to join the CIA. There she honed her skills with computers and became a well-respected field leader. It is her time in the CIA that led to her nickname and future hero moniker, Arctic Princess.

Then at the age of twenty-four, Kata came to Paragon City.

[edit] Trivia

Kata was once seen with British hero The Telepath, a.k.a. Doctor Alfred Bester, emerging from a jazz bar in Kings Row in the early hours of the morning.

She dated a nurse at Bell Point Medical Centre during her recovery from a base raid on Striga Isle. His name was Ben but he has since disappeared from the scene.
