Andy Obsidian is a young, disillusioned, and pyromaniac anarchist. He is unwittingly acting as the earthly avatar for an ancient divinity bent on destroying the world.

Rogue Islands Young Offenders - A group of badly-organised and disaffected youths, who clamour for a voice on the Etoile Isles.
Sigma Cappa Die - A ditzy sorority girl-cum-necromancer who was so excited by Andy being in a band, she invited him into her 'sorority' (The Rogue Islands Young Offenders)
Matthew Joule - A runaway kid from Paragon City who Andy has taken under his wing. And by kid, I mean enormously muscular teenage mutant with the power to manipulate deadly electricty through his massive fists.
"The Old Man" - Andy's 'boss' and mystic mentor. The Old Man is actually Tezcatlipoca, the Aztec divinity of darkness and destruction, bent of destroying this world and taking his revenge on the bearded divinity Quetzacoatl. Centuries of oblivion have atrophied his powers to the extent that he has one 'acolyte': Andy.

Char: Acrid searing smoke congregates in the lungs of his target, slowly burning and choking them to death.
Smoke: Thick hazy smoke that stings the eyes and makes it impossible for those nearby to see.
Flash Fire: A localised explosion of burning ash resounds about nearby targets, stunning them with fiery concussion.

Flares: Igniting the air around his fingertips, Andy can shoot dozens of diminutive flames at a foe.
Incinerate: Focusing on the blackening fire of an incinerator, Andy can grasp a nearby target and burn them from the inside out.
Fire Breath: Andy can belch forth smoky plumes of fire from deep within himself. His favourite manoeuvre is to do so while kissing someone, burning their lungs and innards with searing embers. (He doesn't have to play fair, does he?)
Fire Blast: Condensing the heat of Flares into a tighter area lets Andy shoot a larger bolt of blazing fire.

Sands of Mu: Limning his arms in the cold dead ash of the underworld helps Andy to smash repeatedly at foes in front of him with the gnawing entropy of a long-dead fire.

Recall Friend: Tezcatlipoca allows Andy to call a team mate across the paths of the underworld to his side.
Teleport: In much the same way, Andy can traverse the twisting catacombs of the underworld to appear anywhere else (seemingly instantaneously). The effect occurs in a burst of black smoky tendrils.

Andy plays the bass guitar reasonably well, for he is in a band.

He's also a sucker for an attractive guy with a beard.

Andy finds the practice of referring to his home as the "Etoile Isles" obnoxious and pretentious. He happily 'corrects' anyone who uses the term, substituting "Rogue Isles" whenever he can, and readily aggravates anyone who maintains the alternative idea.
Andy has recently gained a little cult popularity by being portrayed on one of a new series of Motivational Posters from Despair, Inc. He liked the subtle double-entendre of the caption.
