Team of the Month: Unity Vigil

Unity Vigil
Unity Vigil

The Unity Vigil is an organization formed by Zorielle Rolando and her wife Tessa, to help heroes in Paragon City. The aims of the organization are to provide a support base with liaisons to government and non-government organizations, along with personal skilled in a range of fields. In addition to this, the Unity Vigil works with the Metahuman Youth Reformation Scheme in rehabilitating meta human young offenders, and provides support in a variety of ways for its members, from financial and medical to accommodation and counseling. After the formation of the Unity Vigil, announced in a press conference, Zorielle began recruiting heroes for the group and appointing liaisons and experts in various fields. The group worked in the background as it bolstered its ranks, coming to prominence mostly in the second Rikti Invasion where they used their resources to aid others. The group hasn't been without its controversy though, and several in the government are critical or distrustful of Zortel, and there are others who have a grudge against Senior Member and Security Officer Storm Sapphire. The group is currently on friendly terms with most groups, and Zortel has been seen with Britanic discussing a coalition between the Unity Vigil and The Militia... (More)

Hero of the Month: Leah Anima

Birdie is here!
Birdie is here!

The power of Leah Anima primarily comes from her ability to 'mould' energy and use it to various effects this includes kinetic energy, electrical energy, psionic (making her almost immune to psychics), potential, thermal, gravitational and various others. Though her skill lays mainly in Electrical and Kinetic, with the kinetic powers she tends to be able to mould it into force fields and similar protective 'bubbles' she also recently gained use of a small 'All-in-One' Med-Pak given to her by Portal Corps. Also stemming from when she first arrived on this world she was taught various battles so is able to lead her allies and grant them protection without her force fields. Having grown up in a place without the luxuries of our planet she has grown quite stubborn and stouthearted. She can toil away for longer healing wounds slightly faster and recuperating faster as well. Unknown to most Leah's powers greatly influence her personality. Seeing as she has been raised to defend her friends she is rather empathic. Yet unable to turn this into outward healing energy. Instead she uses it to draw upon in times of great need. To find that stronger resolve to never back down no matter what the odds, she will always rise to meet the challenge... (More)

Villain of the Month: Lord Darvek

Darvek Attacks!
Darvek Attacks!

Many moons ago, when people burned witches at the stake, there was a town in England with an noble family living in it. The Darvek's were the local heroes, known through each town and village for their actions against supposed dark forces which threatened to destroy them all if not given a sacrifice. They had fought bravely to keep their lives and their honor, but sadly they had not counted on one thing. The news of their actions had met the ear of a chaotic sorcerer, who at the instant of hearing such a thing happening had risen from his chair and called for his brothers and sisters to join arms and march. Through various magics, the Darvek's wound up alone and the victims of a frightful curse. As it was said, every male born with Darvek blood will be of Chaos ranks and every woman born with Darvek blood shall forever be deceased while unknown grounds are met. Many years have passed since, and the latest man born of Darvek blood is terrorizing Paragon City and the Rogue Isles.

Albert is a quiet man, sitting in his chair at a desk, reading a book quietly in the moon light as the clock chimes midnight. He looks out of the window as the sea crashes against the cliffs, then closes the blinds and heads to his bed. Morning comes along, the clock chimes seven o'clock and Albert rises from his bed like a corpse being reanimated. After getting ready for the day ahead, he hears the phone ring. Answering it, there is no reply. Putting the phone down, he turns only to have a bag put over his head then sedated.

An Arbiter, a person of great power within Arachnos who's only given important tasks to complete. Albert was held within a confined metal cell, bands holding his arms and legs against the wall as he slowly came around. Arbiter Vincent looked through a small hatch on the cell, frowning. "He's coming 'round. Pilot, how far to the base?" Yelled Vincent, holding up a large tranquilizer gun through the hatch. "Not long sir, it's in view." Arbiter Vincent kicks a switch, a hatch door opens on the side of the Arachnos flier as the cell slowly moves towards it. Albert looks around, now awake. He groans eerily as his skin darkens while horns and armour plating grow from his skin. The cell door flies open, falling out of the flies as it slows down. Lord Darvek breaks himself free from the restrains with ease and walks to the edge, looking down he can see Longbow soldiers running wildly, shooting into the air hoping for a lucky shot. He jumps down, a ripple is sent through the ground tripping over nearby Longbow. Lord Darvek is on the loose. An hour later, the Longbow base resembles the Rikti War Zone, with scattered bodies and broken wrecks splayed across the scenery, Darvek charges off to return home... (More)

Story of the Month: Pure Poison

"Pure Poison" Starring Claretta
"Pure Poison" Starring Claretta

“Dammit!” Claretta yelled, now having spent the best part of two days searching Port Oakes, almost every building she looked at was pretty mundane, or full of villains doing some crime or other but none that fit the type of person she was looking for, which she believed was creepy stuff, dead guys and poisons. She sped around another corner, one she was almost certain she’d already checked ten times over and sat down on a bench, casually ignoring the small pile of Arachnos soldiers nearby fighting with a strange spiked woman. “Uff.. He has to be here somewhere..” She rested for a few minutes before getting up again, heading straight ahead through the streets until something caught her eye, a building that stood slightly apart from the others due to all the windows being blacked out, a tall building, about seven stories high. “This one looks like it’s worth checking out..” she thought to herself, cautiously approaching what appeared to be the main entrance. She tried the door, locked. Time to knock a little harder as she lightly forced energy in to the handle, blowing it open rather dramatically. Glancing around the main hall she saw nothing, although the building did show some signs of use, and there was an incredibly foul smell radiating through the building. Deciding to investigate further Claretta pulled her face mask up a little more, so the smell was almost gone as she crept inside. It appeared to be an apartment building, but what exactly lived her she had no idea. Numbered doors lined each corridor, she crept quietly up to the first door which had a small brass sign attached “1-1” and pushed it open as it was unlocked. Peering inside she saw what she believed to be members of “The Family”, people dressed in 1930’s clothing, with rather cool hats on that were sat around a table covered in cards.

“Uh, wrong room sorry..” she muttered before stepping back outside, going to close the door and then suddenly noticing something very wrong with the room in front of her and freezing on the spot. They weren’t family members.. They were dead guys. Dead guys that had gotten up out of their seats and had began rushing towards Claretta. Shaking her head quickly Claretta snapped out of it, bringing her left arm up and charging energy for a couple of seconds before releasing it, the circular blast of energy catching the nearest zombie straight in the chest and sending him back a few feet before the energy exploded, taking the entire room out and most of the windows. “Phew..” She sighed, well aware that this place...
